Move save from SuperCardSD to DSOne

I started Playing Pokemon Diamond on my SuperCardSD.  Well I recently got a SuperCar DSOne.  (OS2, sp1) I thought that it would be nice to be able to use the GBA Union feature.  So I copied an Unpatched ROM file to my Kingston 1gig MicroSD Card.  I then ran the game, let it create a SAV file.  I then copied the SAV from the SuperCardSD to the MicroSD and renamed it to match what the DSOne made.  However when I try to load my save game it does not load a save game.  Instead of giving me the screen to choose to load my save game, it starts off like a fresh cart.
I have tried naming the file to exactly match the the ROM filename (Except for the extension).

So any ideas on how to move savegames from a SuperCardSD to an DSOne it would really help me out!

just rename your sabe to match the rom!

on Supercard SD

Pokemon.nds.dsq
Pokemon.nds.sav

on supercard One

Pokemon.nds
Pokemon.sav

( the save files are the same.. just renamed ! )

I tried that.  However my DSOne makes a new file called "POKEMO~1.SAV".  If I delete that file. and reaname my "Pokemon Diamond.sav" to "POKEMO~1.SAV"  I still do not get the option to load my save game...

Now I did try out the "Pokemon Diamond.nds" file a bit before I copied the SAV file over.  I am not sure if that would be an issue or not.

strange.. the save file just has to have the same name.. i dont know whats is wrong..

i starded playing pokemon via supercard Lite.. after i played on supercard one with the same sabe.. and it worked amazing well!

Now if I rename a SAV file that is created by the DSOne from aa ~1 to the same name as the rom, it works.  So I am really confused....

I will have to try just copying and renaming the SAV from another game to see if that makes a difference...  Maybe it os some silly Pokemon thing....

Quote from: "liquidnitrogen"hm. so does GBA - UNION work?
I have no idea...  I can't get my save to work on my DSOne.  And I do not think I am far enough in the game yet...

I have over a week invested in my current game.  However I am sure I will get it working someday.

Try renaming the game and rom to Diamond.nds and DIAMOND.SAV respectively. Worked for me, seems it uses internal save over the one on MicroSD.

Fantastic!!!  It worked!  I guess it keeps some saves in it internal memory.

Well I am off to play Pokemon Diamond!  (And to figure out how to perge the internal saves... lol  8) )

OK It has been ignoring my MicroSD Save again!
I have been editing my Pokemon Save with a Save Editor.  And so far I have gotten it to work by saving my Pokemon Game, then rebooting my NDS and starting a different game.  Then turning my NDS off.  Editing my Save Game, renaming my save game and rom file.  Then loading my Pokemon game and I am all set.  However now when I do it, it does not load my changes!

How do I force my DSOne to ignore its internal save, and ONLY use my MicroSD Card?

Start a game other than Pokemon D&P and than save it. Now rename your Pokemon ROM and SAV files and see if that helps. Keep the ROM number in the beginning of the name.

I guess you are using FAT16 on your SD card?
Thats a problem of the limit of chars in the filename and the handling of files with larger filenames (*~1.*)
I had the same problem and this solution:
Rename your file from PC to
POKEMO~1.SAV (respective the file the SCDS has started)
Copy this on your SD-card (overwrite).
This should work.
You can try to rename this file afterwards to "Pokemon Diamond.sav", but I'm not sure if this works.

Worked for me I played it on SC DS ONE and let it make the saver then copied the .sav from my SC CF (but I'm not 100% sure I removed the .nds part so it was still .nds.sav)

I am running Fat32.  I reformatted my MicroSD when I found out that the DSOne supports Fat32.

Rename the file with numbers at the BEGINING!!!!  I feel stupid now.  lol

OK thaks everyone, it works again!

I still wish I could dissable the whole "Save to internal memory" thing for some games...  ANd force it to save and load directly to/from my MircoSD.
