Sorry guys, but I have been out of the loop for a bit. I just picked up one of the Supercard SD and Superpass.

Can someone give me a quick "How-To" on getting the thing up and running on my DS.

Hi

You should be able to find everything you need to know ( have a look at the Help forum too ) with a quick search but here are a couple of pointers

- read up on flashme and decide if you want to install it
- get the latest SC firmware and patching software and install both

Beyond that its just a case of patching stuff and putting it on the SD card ;)

So if I have the Supercard SC with 1gb SD Card + Superpass + DS with Metroid Prime Demo + a few roms... do I need anything is to run the roms? Do I need to use the Flashme? Or do I have everything I need?

FlashMe is to replace the SuperPass. If you don't mind using the SuperPass with it sticking out ugly you don't need FlashMe. Some games (i.e. Lost In Blue) works with SuperPass but not with FlashMe, but even if you flashed your DS you can still use SuperPass to play it.

Flashing does have some risk involved and you might damage your DS in the process. But recovery is possible with Parellel Port Flash which requires some soldering and I've never done it before as my flash was successful.

Regarding your question :
1) upgrade the firmware of your SuperCard by putting the firmware file in the root directory of your SD. Get it here http://www.scdev.org/index.php?cat=downloads. Then restart your DS and choose upgrade -> YES
2) patch your ROMs using the patching software (http://www.scdev.org/index.php?cat=downloads). Copy them to your memory card.
3) Start in DS mode and enjoy.

flashme can help if you ever download a virus like the brick
Supercard SD, Sandisk 2 GB, AData  256 MB
Supercard One - 512MB Transcend
Pink DSL with flashme v8a Org-FW  haven't checked

So do most people use the Flashme then? Would most people recommend that over the Superpass? Can I get the Flashme from this site... so as to not brick my DS.

What are the benefits and pitfalls about using the Flashme and SuperPass?

BLYND

flashme
+ means you dont need a big bit of plastic (superpass) sticking out of your DS slot.
- takes about 5 mins to install
+ DS trojan protector
+ can sell your superpass after installing flashme $$$
- got to hold abxy when turn on to enter supercard mode.

Just flashme it makes sense

I would recommend keeping the PassME after flashing for games like Lost In Blue though...

Oh one more thing, with PassMe I was able to use my original Mario 64 cartridge, but not with FlashME. Games just wouldn't run with Mario 64. I'm using Kirby now instead with my FlashMe. Don't know why, so you might want to put that into consideration.

Is the Flashme tutorial on this site the way to do it? Or is there another way to do it now?

Anyone know the answer to my last question?

Yep, it is. In fact, I just finished doing flashme on my NDS following those exact instructions.

Though, with the latest firmware update it's no longer a number in the corner, they've changed it to a percentage.

It works great btw, but I think I'll probably only use flashme by itself if I'm going out somewhere (simply because some games don't work with it, and other games suffer glitches using only flashme. Pass-me has better compatibility in total)

So I ordered the Superpass and it should be here in a few days. Should I forget about the Flashme and just use the Superpass instead. Seems like it is much more compatible than the Flashme.

I really don't care if the Superpass is bulky. I generally never take the DS out of the house... because it is already a brick in itself.
