How do you convert SCDS1 sav files to SC SD sav files? I have tried just renaming but that did not work.

for a little more info, i am trying to convert a pokemon pearl scds1 to the sc sd for my daughter (she was playing it on my ds and wants all her hard work on hers)

Well i got the save from the SCDS1 to work on the SC SD, and this is how (not sure which did it). I forgot that my daughter had played poke pearl and no other game had been played or turned on so i made sure to power back on and open another game (mario kart), then powered down. I put the card in the card reader and copied the save to my pc desktop. I also made sure to play a different game on the SC SD and then remove the sd card and copy the SCDS1 sav to my SC SD and rename to match the game name. and this time it worked. No more corrupted sav error.

So what gives? my guess was that it was starting up the scds1 to have the save, save out of sram.

would love some clarification on this from someone who knows, not looking for a W.A.G.

pokemon pearl is kinda tricky like that cuz it saves 2 copies at a time or something so it can load up one if the other one gets corrupted.

long story short: pokemon pearl is complicated but renaming does work (at least from SCone to SC lite)

easiest way to do it right now would probly be to start the game on the SCSD and delete the save so that when u start up it gives u that purple screen and ask for are you a boy or girl etc. turn off the ds there. copy the save you want over to the SCSD; reboot and pray (i did that a few times and it seem worked on my scone to sc lite so unless the save files are actually different (pretty sure not since all my saves work on scsd, scmsd, scl and scone without converting)

good luck

Thanks for sharing this because it is hard.
