Original GameBoy save question with SCLT

I used to have a PSP and was using RIN (I think, it's been a while now) to play Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening. So tha tis where my save file is originally from.

Anyway I ditched the PSP and now I have a NDS with Supercard Lite (1.70 firmware).  The game plays fine, but my save file I had is not recognized.  I assume it's simply not compatible or maybe could be converted somehow.

Does anyone know a program or another emulator that might accomplish this?  I've tried VisualBoy Advance with no luck.  I'm dreading starting over as I'm pretty far in already, in fact I'd probably just put it away for many numerous years most likely, hehe.

FYI, the game and sav share the same exact name minus the extensions .GB and .SAV, that is correct, Yes?

Thanks for any responses

What I do to save is press L+R+Select+Start which brings me to the menu (do this after you've saved ingame), then I browse to the .sav file, and click it.
My Music

Nearly all of my songs are made with Fruity Loops, except for one where I used Reason. I recommend looking at my ambient stuff, and staying away from old songs, which are pretty crappy.

Yes, the .gbc and .sav file should have the same filename minus the extension.  The Supercard should be able to pick it up if they're in the same directory, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

You said you tried opening the game with VBA, correct?  Are you sure that VBA didn't pick up the save file correctly when opening up the .gb/.gbc file?  You can try using the File - Import Battery Save function, which might work.

Perhaps the RIN emulator saves in a special format.  Do you know if it uses raw dumps of the save file or if it compresses the saves in any way?  How big is the save file from RIN?

I understand how to save, what I want is to load a sav file that was made in a different emulator.  This way I won't have to start my game over.

dantheman,  thanks for the advice.  I tried to import the file with no luck sadly.

RIN originally came from "TGB Dual" source I think.  That said,  I have tried the Win32 version og TGB to see if I could load the sav I have and then resave in a new format, no such luck.  I don't think the version of RIN I was using used a RAW format (not sure) as one of the change logs noted some compressed format for saves.  The save itself is labeled as a ".sav" format and is 26kb in size.

Maybe I'll try tracking down one of the programmers whom worked on one of the two RIN versions and see if they can assist.  Not that it's that important, just a bummer that this game I never finished as a kid, was now almost done.  I just assumed when I switched devices I would be able to carry my save over.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the reason is because the save file is compressed.  Uncompressed ones are in multiples of 2, like 16 kb or 32 kb or 64 kb.  If you can figure out a way to uncompress the save file, it should be usable with both VBA and the Supercard.
