Built-in emulators?

I know that Supercard has a built-in NES emulator, but are there any others? I heard that SC has a GBC emulator, is that true?

The Supercard has built-in support for NES, PCE, GB/GBC, and SMS games using PocketNES 9.97, PCE Advance (version number?), Goomba Color Alpha 6, and Dr. SMS (version number?).  However, all of these run in GBA mode.  I know that NES DS would be preferable to PocketNES at least.  Goomba Color would be your best bet for GB/GBC emulation, as the only decent DS one is Lameboy, which isn't as good.  I've heard that the SMS emulators for the GBA are better than the ones for the DS, but you can also check out DSMasterPlus if you want.

Also check out http://www.portabledev.com/pages/ds/nds-emulation.php and http://gbaemu.dcemu.co.uk and http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk for some more emulators.

I wonder if someone has attempted hacking DS emulators into the SuperCard firmware.

and the point of that would be    :?:

Bah, some cretin destroyed my top screen anyway, so I have a GBA in the price of a DS.

You can get replacement screens on e-bay and other places  :)

Well that sucks.  Then yeah, the GBA-side ones would probably be better for you.  However, note that with SNES, you should still be able to use SNEmulDS, as you can press Start+L+R+Right to flip the screens when you need to.  I think SNES DS can also flip the screens, but I'm not sure.

There are SNES emulators that work pretty well. Check out SNEmulDS.

Hi

yeah, use nesds unless it's being evil to you or something, and even then try to fiddle with it. Pocketnes workes great on the emulation side, maybe even very slightly better than nesds. BUT nesds doesn't need to scale the screen like pocketnes does; scaling the screen may actually be more of a problem then you think it is, you don't notice it until you play with the screen unscaled and suddenly everything is so much more fun.

NES DS runs on the top screen only, so he's out of luck.

NES DS scales the screen by default, but it's less than that of PocketNES so it's less noticeable.  You can make it completely unscaled in both NES DS and PocketNES through the respective menus.  With PocketNES, if you have the PocketNES Menu Maker program, the included database has sprite following values for many popular games, which means that you can leave it unscaled and have the screen automatically move up and down based on the main sprite's vertical position on-screen.  It's actually surprisingly playable that way.

For instance, launch "Super Mario Bros.nes" from the (slot-2) Supercard menu, press L+R, go to Display, change it to "UNSCALED (Auto)" and change the Sprite Number to 0007.  Press B to exit the menu and play the game, noting how the entire screen position shifts as Mario jumps.  You can also hold L or R to keep the screen at the top or the bottom (for instance, to make sure you don't fall down some pit you couldn't see)

Hi

But unscaled is even more annoying than scaled! You can't see the whole screen. Yeah, I'm picky.

I thought you were just praising unscaled.  Ah well, whatever, doesn't really matter.  Just keep in mind that the NES display is still taller than the DS can show, so NES DS does scale it down somewhat, though it is less noticeable than it is with PocketNES due to the higher resolution.

Hi

What I am praising is unscaled and the ability to see the the whole screen at once (or in the case of nesds as I just found out, unscaled and the ability to see enouph of the screen at once that I can't tell)
