SCLite: Is 1.7 firmware needed to use DLDI?

I remember back when the 1.7 firmware was first released, there were some reports of it breaking certain homebrew compatability so I avoided updating my Supercard Lite.  Now I've just recently got back into running some of the newer homebrew stuff and discovered the DLDI patches, however they don't seem to be working quite right on the apps I've tried.  I've tried both sclt.dldi and scsd_moon.dldi.  The former seems to work better for me, but its still not quite working for the apps I've tried.  I was wondering if the DLDI patches required the latest Supercard firmware, and updating would fix my problems.  Anyone know?

Hi

I don't really know, but I also don't see any problem with updating to 1.7. If I'm correct, the only thing 1.7 used to break was DSorganise. The newer versions of DSorganise work on 1.7. So I don't see why you shouldn't just update now.

I could be wrong though, as I'm going according to my not-so-good-memory. Can anyone confirm what I remember being true?

Have you tried the regular SCSD.dldi file?  I'm shocked that SCSD_moon.dldi doesn't work for, as that has the greatest compatibility of all the Supercard DLDI files.  Regardless, the firmware version shouldn't matter.  I used 1.63 for a long while with DLDI and didn't have any issues.

Of course, you could always updated if you want.  The only major thing that it could break is QPC saving, which is remedied by rebooting into GBA mode instead of DS mode.

I just tried the SCSD.dldi and it actually seems to work the best of the three, but still not good enough.

I'm trying to run QuakeDS and DScent.  Both run fine except for game saves.

scsd_moon.dldi: Both games lock up while attempting to save a game.

sclt.dldi: DScent locks up when saving.  DSQuake appears to save, but locks up while loading the save game (so it appears it got corrupted when writing)

scsd.dldi: Both games appear to save.  Both games lock up when loading the save game.

Try running it through the super card magic homebrew patcher after you've applied the DLDI patch.
My Music

Nearly all of my songs are made with Fruity Loops, except for one where I used Reason. I recommend looking at my ambient stuff, and staying away from old songs, which are pretty crappy.

Jesster

Tried it.  Didn't change anything for either game.

wow, i hope they give out another dldi...

sclt.dldi has been working until recently...

amplitude ds homebrew doesnt work >.>
dsorganize 1.7 doesnt work.. (dont know why...)

i did this on firmware 1.7 - but now that i updated to 1.8, i really cant check, cuz 1.8 did break a lot of homebrew, its amazing that moonshell still works...

Jesster

Looks like they updated to 1.81 to fix homebrew problems.  Haven't tried either 1.8 or 1.81 yet, however I did get dldi working for SNEmulDS on my SCLite.  I think I used scsd.dldi, but it might have been sclt.dldi.

Still having problems with DScent and QuakeDS.
