Would it be possible to create an emulator SOLEY for game?

I'll admit it. I want Super Mario RPG to be portable. So I was wondering, would it be possible that someone makes an emulator for the DS that SOLEY works with Mario RPG, or any other game for that matter? (so you avoid concentrating on compatibility issues with all games.) basically a pipe dream, but hey, you never know :p

kyus

buy a psp.

plays perfectly through mine. Only problem being the slow intro fmv.

wanting that on the ds is a pipe dream :D

It's possible, yes, but Archeide seems to be the only guy who's really got the time and inspiration to make an SNES emulator for the DS, and he's more concerned with general emulation to get the highest compatibility.

I too wish to see SMRPG on the DS, and in theory such a single-game emulator could be possible, but the hard part will be finding someone who wants to make it.

Just because it's bugging me, the word is solely, not soley.

What kind of nut in there right mind would buy a PSP just for a Mario game :?: The PSP is shit and I should know, I had one a for a good year before ditching it for an NDS Lite 8)

The only thing that was good on it was the Mega Drive emulation but even then trying to play Sonic with those awful controls was bothersome to say the least.

I must say though I did get it out a couple months ago to make my old dears DVD player multi region with some IR program...

As for the sole emulator, anyone could make an emulator solely for one game if they knew how. If you do some research on emulators you will find that some start off like this but then they end up emulating lots more than just the one.

Hi

I'd love the same thing, except with KSS (kirby super star) It's my all time favorate game, and I want it on my nds. I can't afford a psp, and besides, I'd probably break it within a week. That's me, MR. butterfingers.

You should suggest it to Archeide over at pocketheaven, just don't bug him about it.

It's already been suggested multiple times at PH, and he's already made his response, so I would not suggest asking about it again.  He already knows people want the special chips emulated, and he is considering implementing the slower chips once general compatibility improves.  However, note that the SA-1 chip, which powers both SMRPG and Kirby Super Star, is one of the fastest coprocessors made for the SNES, so I wouldn't expect it to get emulated very quickly.

Hi

I ment, suggest the idea of creating an emu solely for a spicific game. It doesn't even have to be a game that uses a special chip, just a problem game.

Of course, then again, when I think about it, what would we really be requestiong? A request for an entirely new emu? No...

Okay, I dissagree with myself. Don't suggest it.

No it's not. I"ll admit it's no where near in the DS's league, and that I play my DS way, way, more than my PSP. But the handheld isn't "shit", as you put it.

It emulates way better than the DS. That's about the only plus that it has over the DS. But it's a good plus.

Anyways, I just found Super Mario RPG a few weeks ago for the SNES. Paid $30 for it. Just got done playing through it for my very first time. So if you have a SNES TC, then I suggest just buying the game. This is ones of those games that deserve to be played like they were meant to be. And if you don't have an SNES, go get one. In my opinion, it was the best console ever, and definitely deserves to be in your house.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

Yeah I did say that but what's the point in trying to play the classics with horrible controls. I would rather play my slowish and no sound sonic games on the DS cause the controls are awesome :) And besides I've played those games enough to know all the music and sound effects in the back of my head so you can just sort of imagine hearing it anyway.

Hi

Why not just buy one of those controllers that hooks up to the PC?
