Here is the new trailer for Super Mario Galaxy from E3. It shows Mario's two new suits, the bee suit and the Boo suit. The game is set for release on November the 12th.

Looks great, but I wonder how the control scheme is set up.  Does it use the Nunchuk?

Perseid

This may be blasphemy in the Nintendo world, but for some reason I can't quite put my finger on I get the feeling I'm not going to like this game. The round worlds look really confusing. The fact that I can't figure out the controls at ALL by watching videos of it does not lend itself to the notion of intuitive controls.  Meh, I'm probably going on too much about a game I've never played. But, still. I dunno.

Adzma

Nope, I think it's gonna rockz0rs the bockz0rs!

DeVS

I read that the world jumping footage that keeps getting shown is not the major part of the game. They say you will jump worlds and then go into a level and play that level similar to Mario 64 where you ran around the castle till you found a painting to go into and then in the painting is the level you play.

Guess it wont be long now till we know for sure.

The way I see, I would say that the nunchuck was used for movement, while the wiimote is used for jumping and attacking.

On those levels with low gravity, I would say jumping a certain amount would get you escape velocity so as to stick to the ceiling or the floor.

Attacking is done through swinging the wiimote, and so is coin-collection.

DeVS

Not sure if gravity has to do with jumping, but that part where Mario goes from walking on the ceiling to walking on the ground, you can see an up arrow when he is walking on the ceiling and a down arrow where he drops and walks on the ground.

Any idea where you read this, as I'd like to read it as well. I've commited myself to learning everything that is available on the WWW about SMG.

I also find it hard to believe it. If Mario doesn't spend most of the game planet-jumping, why would Nintendo bother to bring him to space?`

P.S. It takes SUCH A LONG TIME to type messages on the DS

and this help... how?

DeVS

I do not recall where I read it and of course they will show mario jumping in space, it's a new mechanic for the series, why would they not show it. Good luck on your quest for all things SMG....

Mota

The space sequences look pretty annoying IMO, I hope there's plenty of Mario 64 style action.
