That'd be pretty hard to get into the firmware....  JUST BELIEVE!!!

P.S.  Anyone want me to make this thread on the official SuperCard Forums?

Lot of Functions of Supercard DS was asked in topics like this!!

Ok, I thought of 3 more.

6. Ability to delete/move files from within the os, when you play a game and it sucks or you beat it, give us a way remove it then.

7.  wget so I can download files without having to go to the pc.

8.  ftp server so we can xfer games to and delete games from the ds without having to remove the card from the ds.
I think 7 can be handled by DSLinux, while 8 can be handled by DSFTP, though you're not going to get very fast speeds (think 30 kb per second).  I'd also recommend against deleting files with DSFTP, as it uses the older gba_nds_fat for accessing the filesystem, and as such deleting files is somewhat unstable and may corrupt your card.

For the record, DSO also uses gba_nds_fat, and while a major bug was fixed that majorly corrupted cards, it's still recommended that you use caution when modifying files with it.

I know there are 3rd party apps to do some of these, but it would sure be nice if they were in the firmware, where you didn't have to patch other apps, worry that they weren't 100% compatible, etc.   I know putting files would be slow, but being able to it would be great.  An ability to xfer them to other ds's with dsones would also rock.

That last one will most likely not work for a looong time.  You see, the ad-hoc protocol, the local DS-to-DS protocol, has not been figured out yet, so all homebrew wireless apps must use Wifi and an access point.  The closest thing we've got is a single demo that sends a "test.nds" file from the root of your card to another DS via Download Play.  The file is loaded into RAM and then run.  It only works on a few specific devices, and the receiving DS must be flashed for it to work.

Now if you have an access point, perhaps you could run DSFTP on one DS and use the DSLinux FTP client to transfer files back and forth.  It's worth a shot at least.  Note that to launch DSLinux on a SCDS you'll need a special runner file from http://forum.supercard.cn/viewthread.php?tid=254

I know in the latest release the touchscreen control was supposed to be improved and all that, but maybe a small flashing dot to let you know what you're currently pushing or just clicked would be helpful, a la the NDS Opera Browser.

I still fear all the time that the thing I just clicked is going to miss completely and load a game off my list instead.

I'd also like to see improved skinning functions.

Saves need to be redone, is it that difficult to include the full filename and add a (2) or (3) if it's the second or third save?

Lastly, the ability to move the files as you wish, in any order you want, like a Windows OS desktop, would be awesome.

btw, I don't think the SuperCard OS can do anything about the default sound volume, that's more of a hardware thing, isn't it?
