DS and Flashcart noob, need advice!

I tend to be ultra-anal when it comes to protecting my portables, so for my near-future DS purchase I'd like to use a flashcart and play my games as roms so I can keep the original carts in a safe place. After reading around a bit, it looks like the R4DS is a good choice for me (specifically, the one with included 1GB or 2GB on RealHotStuff).

I'm basically looking for something I can connect to my PC, drag some rom files onto, then plug into my DS and start gaming (including playing games like Pokemon online via Wi-Fi). I'm pretty good with tech stuff, but I'd prefer not to have to scour the Web for obscure programs and hacks to get my games running like they do with the original cart. Is the R4DS the right cart for me, or is there another product that would suit me better?

Yes the R4/M3 Simply (they are the same card different names) are the best. Simple drag and drop, no rom patching or anything else. Of course GBA games do not work on any slot1 mod cart. Can't go wrong with R4/M3 Simply.

The R4 would work fine for your purposes, yes.  The Supercard DS is another possible option, though it's a little bit less user-friendly, though it includes a few more features (like the ability to consult a gameFAQ guide in the middle of a game for instance).

Thanks for the replies, that was just the info I was looking for.

Wow nice feature! Wish my M3 Simply had this, though I could not stand the save file size thing on the DS:One so I got rid of it.
