I dont have an SP in front of me to look at, but the hinged have to have a pin inside them, make sure theyre not sticking out.  If they are, tap them back in with something.

I have one here all apart, cant find the thing to take a picture and explain better though...

look at the hinge, and on the left side and right side of the gba there are 2 plastic circles, see if those pop out, and if they do there should be a couple screws under... (without looking at the one here I cant say for certain if there are indeed screws)

Can I ask how a pixel fixer will help fix the hinges on the GBA?

It shouldnt break anything, it just flashes the screen in the primary LCD colors really quickly (not good for epilepsy) and tries to jar the stuck pixels loose so they work again. I have known of no one on DS or GBA to get more stuck pixels using a pixel fixer, but a friend of mine got more stuck on his PSP when using this type of tool.
