Hi, I'm new to the PSP homebrew scene since it was only recently that a downgrader was released for my 3.30 PSP (Thanks to the Lumines exploit). How do I play PS1 games on it? My current firmware BTW is 3.40 OE-A

Thanks in advance! :)

You need a program called Popstation(which is free) and you need the official Sony PS1-to-PSP conversion of Hot Shots Golf(which is not free). Popstation basically rips the necessary code out of Hot Shots and wraps it around your PS1 ISO.

Thanks!

I'mma go ahead and try it!

Non non non! That method is way out of date and a lot more confusing.

Use that program there. Very simple, and it allows you to customize the graphics that appear in the menu.

sneef

that's the same method though.. just with a GUI.

Not exactly, if you use the old method you're limited to a single memory card since all CDs will have the same cd identity code as hot shots golf. I didn't notice you could customize using that method, but still... Who wants to use the dos prompt when they can much more easily use a GUI? ^_^

Very out of date. I was using that method last Christmas when I first got my PSP.

Nowadays all you have to do is dowload a psppsx game(a psx game already converted) and throw it on your memory card(while using custom firmware) and fire it up, and that's it. Very simple.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

That is easier, true, but that doesn't get you to converting your own. You're at the mercy of whatever already-converted images you might find.

And, yes, the GUIs are easier, but I prefer the CLI version when I'm first exploring something so I have a better grasp of what's going on, since most(all?) of the GUI versions call Popstation anyway. But, alas, I am probably strange when it comes to that, so, yeah. Google for 'popstation gui". There are lots of them now.
