Well, the new MK5 team put out a new firmware, and it has Soft Reset. I haven't actually tried it yet, but hopefully it works.

EDIT:

Yep, it certainly does work. When you select game, you have to select the new save type Auto. Then when you're in a game, just press L+R+A+B+X+Y, and resets right back to the menu.
