as far as I know it will have to be re uploaded when the forum was transferred the attachments did not transfer with the move

Yeah, older attachments have some issues with them.  At one point, all the attachments were getting screwed up entirely and not showing up at all (though this was later fixed), and I'm sure the forum move didn't help matters.
