um Hi there everybody! im having a problem with my pokemon diamond game.. im not sure if it happens to anybody else but sometimes after exiting a wifi battle or trade and i just shut off the game without saving once i go outside, i lose some pokemon =\ basically they're replaced with something i had before i saved and some iffy stuff happened. Like i trade my pikachu for a charmander and then trade back.. once i turn the game back on i still have a charmander and my friend does too.. and pkiachu is uhh gone =\

ANYWAYS enough chitchat about my long confusing story [sorry!], i basically backed up my pokemon save file and want to replace it with my current one. I tried flushing the pokemon save out of my dsone by playing other games and saving in them but once i paste the new save in and turn on pokemon... MY OLD FILE IS STILL THERE o.o this is getting really frustrating and i cant seem to find a way for my DSone to simly read and load the other save file.

Any help?

I think I know what you're talking about, I had the same problem. I never even did a trade, but I lost one of my star pokemon, and instead it was replaced by another of my pokemon, so I had two of the same pokemon but lost one.

It was pretty frustrating for me too, and I'm not sure why it happened. I had to use the PokeSav (which I didn't want to do, I don't want to cheat at all) on my current save with the information on an older save, to return the pokemon I lost. I just copied down the details on my old pokemon exactly on a piece of paper, and then plugged them into the Pokesav. Thankfully, I backup my saves often, in case something like this happens. Had my headaches with DS Organize back before DLDI was implemented.

But I digress. To solve your problem, you need to bypass SC DS One's saving thing, because whenever you load up your old save, the SD DS One will replace it with the save it has in its memory. There's an easy way to bypass this auto save: when you load up your SC DS One, hold select, and it will bypass the saving.

So all you have to do is drop the save you want to return to into your folder, or wherever it is you keep it, start it up, and hold Select as soon as the white screen comes up. It shouldn't save over the save you just put in. Don't just hold select as soon as you turn on your DS, especially if you have it flashed, that will boot to slot 2. As soon as you see the white screens should be fine.

The other way to do this (I think this works) is to start another game, it doesn't matter what. Then restart, and let it save that game's save in. Replace the pokemon save with the one you want, and then start it up. I think this might work too, because the save in the SC DS One's memory is for another game, and shouldn't affect your recently moved over pokemon save.

I would try the first method first. There's other ways to do it, and other things I tried, but I have forgotten, because that was an extremely frustrating afternoon lol

Good luck!

Hey! thanks you guys for all the help! i got it working now =D it seems that my old save file was on 256 the whole time which is kinda odd... so i changed it to 512. Thanks so much teknicz for the save avoider advice! now i just load up a random game and then save inside it and then replace the pokemon save and it works great! =)
