Well it would appear all the rumors about Sony cutting the price of the PS3 down to $499 only 8 months after launch have come true today. Right now CircuitCity has listed the new price of the PS3 to be $499 effectively immediately. The new price is also listed up on CircuitCity's web site http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sony-PlayStation-3-60GB/sem/rpsm/oid/166283/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do I believe the United States is the only place seeing the price cut, but I could be wrong.

Went ahead and got me one tonight. It also comes with an xtra controller for free.

I'm going to get me a used one. I"ll probably be able to get for about $400. I still think the PS3 is nowhere near worth that much...but I just want one to have one, since I always buy every console. And plus there's Sigma. I know it's not too much different than Black, but I'm still a big Ninja Gaiden fan, and want to play it.

And I also know there will be better games coming out for it eventually, so I need to get one.

This deal even adds Memento and a remote. That makes a new system more appealing.

Seriously, I would much rather save a hundred bucks then get five free blu ray movies, by way of mail in rebate. I don't really care about blu ray, and think it's a joke.

The video shop I buy at had a ps3 used for something like $420. So now with the price reduction, it should be even lower. I'll be getting one soon.

Well u save $100 AND get the 5 free blu-ray movies. Hell I know I want the movies cause I will be selling them back to get a game,lol.
