Should I get a SuperCard DS (ONE) v2, M3 Simply, or R4 DS?

I just want a flashcart that can supports lots of hombrew, don't need to select saver size, and can run MOST games without any slowdows.

Does anyone know where to buy the flashcart they are recommending in Vancouver, BC (And is in stock?).

Thx

Vapourstreak

Anyone?  Plz hurry up because I'm planning to geting the flashcart this Friday bcause I have school off.  Plz Hurry!!!

is it really that much of a pain to choose saver size???

anyways, if you really want to keep those conditions, choose the R4/M3... they just choose the Highest saving size for all the roms, so there is no problem. The firmware is also on the microSD, so no worries about flashing firmware onto the hardware! and it does its job perfectly... runs most games without errors... actually only Tony Hawks Downhill Jam.. probably (though i cant say for sure)... Use Kingston 1 gig (japan)

supercard ds seems to only work with the highspeed cards... though it has a pretty sweet moonshell interface... it does what it should do but you select the saver size... from one forum member, he said to default it to the largest size and it will save without asking you anything...

(what i would choose is ezflash v.. but i guess thats just one of those options that i would like... haha... be sure to get their 3 in 1 expansion pack if you wanna play GBA and you have a LITE... stop by the 3 in 1 expansion thread of the EZ flash forums to get the still-in-prototype program to flash the gba to the cart...)

CASE in POINT: easiest card for newbies... R4/M3

hm.. judging from the members of the forum, they keep saying the Crystal Mall has them.. (though i dont know if its in Vancouver since... i'm not from there...

Crystals should have the M3 cause I asked about 2 and a half months ago and they said they'd get it at the end of like Feb? So yea, April now so they should have them.

I Have the SCDS and it does work great. You do have to choose the speed and stuff but it's quite easy. I started out knowing nothing about this stuff and it wasn't hard to setup so my recommendation does go to the SCDS.

However, I've heard great things bout the R4 and M3 as well so from the looks of it, whichever boat you take it'll float .

Vapourstreak

okay, but for the SCDS, do you need to set the saver size for ALL the games?  And also, I've heard that the SCDS' touch screen is inaccurate, it the accuracy fized in the SCDS version v.2?

[EDIT]  Do you need to go online to see all the saver sizes, or is there somthing I can print out?

liquidnitrogen

SCDS ver 2 ships with the same firmware... and that firmware uses Moonshell so i doubt it will have any improved accuracies...

in order for that to happen, moonshell would need to be updated... heh

for the savers, i think online is the only option.. since it keeps getting updated for every game..

you could always go the route of trial and error :)

Like liquidnitrogen said, easiest card for n00bs, M3/R4. The interface is so simple that its funny lol. But it runs games great. I got a SCDS because I been using SC brand stuff for a while. As long as you get a good SD card, the SCDS is just as good as the other carts out there. Don't let the R4 fan boys tell you otherwise!!

But why bother searching round for the fastest MicroSD card when R4/M3 Simply will play most games with a regular speed card?

Havent you answered that yourself...MOST...  You still need a good card for POR and probably Downhill Jam... So the benefit of a fast card is for ALL slot 1 cards regardless of your preference.. Why act like it is an sc one problem only? I have an sc one pre-ordered from first batch.. no trouble at all

i have a 512mb kingston taiwan (the dreaded taiwan) on my r4 and c:por works fine. downhill jam works fine also, but a bit disappointed on the game.

you seem to be an exception rather than the norm re castlevania and downhill jam.. I'm no fanboy and have an r4 on the way.. couldnt resist for £15.99 :) I have a sandisk 1gb and 2x jap kingstons.. I'll check the performance of the sandisk on the r4 as it the slowest of my cards

Mikeypr

Hi

Where did you get you R4 for £15.99?

Thanks

Lol...I know this is an old post, but come on. I mean, it's quite obvious you're an R4 fanboy, but don't spread lies. You are not the only person that got a fast Taiwan made Kingston, that PoR and Downhill Jam actually plays flawlessly on. I ran both of these games on my R4 and Kingston Taiwan, and PoR locked up at every portal and mirror, and also locked up sometimes when I went into the start menu. And Downhill Jam just ran like crap.

You probably never even tried these games.

yep i also agree with 754boy. Basically if you are a noob and dont want to spend time exploring + toying around with your slot1 device then just get a R4/M3. I believe they're essentially the same card except the M3 gets slower updates and has a different label on the front =P

I have a SCDS first batch and nothing seems to be wrong with it. Although i do admit that with my slow memory card some games like Castlevania and Pokemon @ GTS dont run so well but meh i think i can live with it. Although the SCDS menu has some sensitivity bugs in it c'mon... you're going to be there for about 10 seconds and then load your game... worst case? you use the D+pad instead =P

i guess you're not interested at looking for other options such as Cyclods or G6Real?
