Besides the label, is there any meaningful difference? I've got one of the 'launch' SCDS1 cards, with red PCB and the original label. Later they came out with the green-labeled version in the box that looks like a Datel product. Did they change anything?

Honestly, I haven't used it since about the second day I had it because it doesn't run ACWW well with my Sandisk UltraII. Other games were ok, but my wife flipped out over the slowdowns in ACWW. I tried to sell it but nobody made an offer even, so I guess I might eventually get another microSD for it (Kingston JPN of course). Just wanting to make sure its at least as good as the version currently being sold.

ive got a launch day scdsone with red pcb :smitten:
i really dont know if there was any change with hardware between V1 & V2
my V1 works perfectly with a toshiba SDC-01G

Some people reported the original SCDS1 fit snug inside the DS slot, sometimes requiring the Supercard to be ejected by pushing on the corner of the card. Otherwise the differences are mostly cosmetic with new packaging. The green v2 PCB has probably been outsourced to a different company. Functionally v1 and v2 are identical.

I had so many problems with the original Supercard DS ONE it wasn't even funny.  It got stuck inside my DS, you had to push on the corners to get it out, there were slowdowns that don't exist on the v2 version, it was just one train wreck after another.  However, the Supercard DS ONE v2 seems to be quite an awesome cart.

Well I guess my original SCDS1 is one of the good ones because I have never had any problems outta of it. Didnt fit snuggly or anything.  8) 8) 8)

cool guys, thanks. yeah i remember people complaining about too-snug fit, but i didn't have that problem. maybe snug compared to a retail cart, but not tight. and the spring in the microSD slot on mine works fine too. I really need to give it another chance. I got the thumbs-up to order a Kingston JPN 1GB next payday, so wish me luck with it.

How can you tell the difference between V1 and V2?

Thanks

Why not get the 2GB Kingston Japan?  I picked up two of them at my local Fry's for $30 each. They work great with my SCDS1 and my new HD video camera.

well I will if I find it, but the only place i KNOW to get the JPN-made Kingston's is realhotstuff, and the 2GB is $45 there. I can go to local retailers and look, but gasoline adds up. I got no Fry's in my backyard afaik.

Get it from DZ Tech Hanafuda. They have the Japan made 2GB Kingston's. I ordered one, and it did arrive as Japan made. So you can trust them. You can even email them and ask him. The guy is very reassuring.

Also only took about three days to arrive. It's only $22.95, and comes with a free writer. I use it with my SCDS 1, and it works great. I actually need to pick up a few more from there.

You can purchase the 2gb Kingston MicroSD made in Japan on Newegg for $23. My friend ordered 4 of them (two for me and two for him) and received it in two days (Cali to Texas). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134480
