I have a Supercard SD. Pretty basic, but gets the job done.

My friend is asking me to help him. I tried flashing his DS lite, but it's a newer version, so it turned off. I didn't get a chance to try again. Anyway, I found out about the R4 Revolution, which sounds perfect for him. I was just wondering if flashme is required for it to work with the the DS lite. It is also cheaper than the SUpercard SD, and it comes with a usb reader etc. which seems a bit too good to be true. Does the Supercard SD have something the R4 does not?

Thanks.

The R4 does not require flashme, it has a nopass device built-in. The R4 does not have GBA support though. I've written a first impressions somewhere, hit the search on "r4 first impressions".

R4 is an excellent card for the price  :)

So it basically works out of the box? Just have to drag the NDS file on it? And also, what about my saves on my Supercard. Is there a way to transfer them too?

And also, if I was to purchase one for my DS lite, would it still work? I've flashed it, and have been working with it for months with a Supercard SD.

yes works straight out of the box drag and drop clean NDS roms (not patched) but its advised to update to the latest 1.10 kernel from the R4 website for best compatibility  :)

as for save games you need to convert them using DS SAVE TOOL get it here :)

there should be no issues using it with your DS LITE flashed or unflashed it should still work fine (I use my R4 with my DS LITE :)

.....FLASHING is for use with SLOT 2 cards and should not interfere with using the R4 :)

Thats great, because I tried to flash my friends DS lite, and it did not work, so this would be great for his DS lite. I might also change, finding out that the Su[ercard SD is pretty old now, and the R4 can play more games, and is just all around, better. (Maybe cheaper too? I can do without GBA)

Thanks alot. If I have any more enquiries, I will be sure to come back here.

QuoteThe R4 does not have GBA support though

does that mean that even if you get an EZFlash 3-in-1 it wont support GBA games?

no it means the R4 on its own will not support gba ... if you purchase the 3 in 1 then the 3 in 1 will provide the GBA support not the R4 itself  :)

NOPE same as R4 they dont have the needed ram and slot 1 does not emulate gba .. same with ALL SLOT 1 CARDS none can play gba it must be done from SLOT 2  :)
