EZ Team is developing a new slot 1 card, internal name â€" Venus, which is geared towards multimedia. In addition to traditional functions of a slot one, it can run GBA game on its own, coupled with built in FC, GB, GBC, MD, SFC simulator. This new card does not use Moonshell. Through the use of EZ Enjoy Net’s (EEN) multimedia services, one can download a variety of resources such as movies, TV shows, mp3, mv, etc, and even real-time online digital television (this is being prepared, only unlocked three test channels as of this moment). Other features includes, a web browser with language encoding support, flash support, a PDA system, an embedded Chinese to English dictionary, a client which receives stock market information, provides various lottery information, etc etc.
Unlike previous EZ card that has playing games as the main focus; Venus heads toward the multimedia direction, allowing the DS to reach further into our daily lives. We have learned that EZ Team is negotiating with several companies in preparation for a universal remote function. If this materializes, we can put away that huge pile of remote controllers. But, this function requires cooperation and authorization from many companies (the technology itself is not difficult). It is unknown at this point whether this will make it to Venus. We hope that even if this function is not available at release, it can be achieve by upgrading.

When windirt was asked about the release date, his response was vague. We could only speculate as follow: Product model number may be EZ2008 Mul; it is close to completion; release time depends on competitors and market.

Something about this doesn't seem right.  I'll admit I'm intrigued by it, but I seriously have to question some of their claims.

I really want to know how they plan to do that.  Where do they plan to store the GBA rom for execution?  The only thing slot-1 can access that's enough to run GBA games is the DS's on-board RAM, which tops out at 4 MB, the lowest possible size for a commercial GBA game.  Also, I have to wonder if they plan to develop those other emulators themselves or just rip off the homebrew creations as usual.  I'd imagine they'll use NES DS, Lameboy, jEnesisDS, and SNEmulDS, and they'll have to manually upgrade the built-in ones each time a new version is released.  Supercard has already fallen victim to this issue - the built-in emulators are out of date and haven't been upgraded.

Again, will they be developing their own web browser or just packaging something like Bunjalloo or Okiwi into it?  Also, if they somehow manage Flash support, I will greatly applaud them, as that would be something they'd have to code from scratch, unless they went off of Natrium42's abandoned demo using Trogdor.

Universal remotes work through infrared, right?  The DS has no infrared hardware whatsoever built-in, so they'd have to add that to the flash cart, probably not very feasible given the small size of slot-1 devices.  And I kinda doubt they'd be able to upgrade the hardware through a firmware update.  Unless of course they plan to go the DS-X route by adding an FPGA unit to it with the idea that you can "upgrade" the hardware at any time.  And we all know how well that worked out for the DS-X, right?  Oh wait...

I'm not trying to judge before seeing, but something is definitely fishy about the whole thing.

Sorry guys, its just a joke look at the source's thread title: http://ezflash.sosuke.com/about6947.html

It sounded too good to be true  :o

Yeah it did. I pretty much dismissed it right after I read that it will run GBA games on its own.
