Wiikey SD adapter problem

I just got a Wiikey SD adapter for my Gamecube (since wii isn't capable of gc homebrew), and I put a 1 gb micro sd card with the Micro SD adapter in it, but when I check the memory card section, it shows on the screen "The object inserted in Slot A/B cannot be used". Am I doing something wrong?
