Got a quick question here...

I have a few nice scratches on my DS touch screen and I was wondering what I should replace to fix it.

Should I just replace the touch screen, the bottom LCD, or both?

Mikeypr

Sometimes a good (Hori or Pelican) Screen protector will hide the scratches well.

Save the cost and the risk.

If you do need to change it just change one of them.

Thanks, I'll try some screen protectors.

But if that doesn't work, which one do I change?

Does the touch screen get the scratches in it or is it the LCD? Or is it both?

That's what I want to know before I even attempt to take my DS apart.

how would the lcd get scratches ?  it's underneath the touch screen..just replace that if you fancy the job..I've done it on a 'phat' and it's fairly straight forward
Yes I'm mad

the bottom "screen" is made from a touch panel and a lcd screen (they are stuck together, but can be taken apart).

if there is a scratch, it will most likely be on the touch panel.

i would advise repling the touch screen+ lcd as a combo... if you aren careful you could get dust underneath the touch screen when you palce it... meaning that you could easily end up damaging the touch screen and the lcd in one go

Dudacus

Ok ok... Thanks for the responses.

So the scratches are most likely in the touch panel and not the lcd.

I'll see about making a repair.
