This question is mainly for those who have more than one type of Slot1 device. I have a SCR lite and I'm looking to move to a slot1 device but i'm not sure which to get. I'm torn between the R4, SC dsone and the new Cyclo evo. If anyone could tell me which in their opinion is better and why then i'll be able to make a  better choice. I have read the info of all those cards from the web sites but i would like to hear from a user who owns all of my 3 choices so thanks in advance from anyone who is willing to help.

I have used all 3, and I have to say it really depends on what you need.  All 3 are excellent carts.  The Supercard DS ONE has a lot of nice features, but it isn't really easy to use.  The R4 also has a lot of features, but not some that are unique to the Supercard DS ONE, however, it is incredibly easy to use, and really cheap to buy.  The CycloDS Evolution has a really bright future, it seems to be the perfect mix of the two, but no one can really tell what happens in the future.

I have reviewed all 3, and reviews can be read here: http://dsdatabase.org/reviews.html  I try to keep them short while being as informative as possible.

If you can take a longer read, check this out:  http://dsdatabase.org/bestflashcart.html  It is a survey of some of the most respected members of the community on their opinion on the best flash cart.  They refer to both slot 2 and slot 1 carts though.

Or you could read the reviews here and comments @ the minute the R4 has the edge for 100% compatibility and 100% download play (just use NDSTOKYO TRIMMER if your trimming other trimmers break the download play :(

this is closely followed by the M3 as they are the same card practically with the R4 being the cheaper option  :)

CYCLO also claims 100% download and 100% compatibility :)

SCdsONE has had a few teething problems lately and is the slowest to get updates at the minute .. although it still has a HUGE FANBASE due to most SUPERCARD owners migrating from SLOT 2 supercards to SLOT 1 :)

Personally I have an R4 and loving every minute of it as it already comes with built in MOONSHELL 1.71 for video/mp3 and txt reading capabilitys ... R4 is also probs your cheapest option  :)

there are loads of threads on this forum which slot card 1 is best or R4 vs SCdsONE etc :)

Like others mentioned, just read the reviews. You'll probably get all the info you need out of them.

When the DsOne gets the new firmware that gives it full download play, then all three carts will be pretty much the same. Although the Evo and R4 are easier to use, just because there are less options to mess with it. And like kkan mentioned, the R4 is going to be your cheapest cart, price wise.

The only thing the Evo has the that the other two don't, is the ability to use SDHC microsd cards. So if you think you're going to want 8GB, 16GB, or even 32GB of space in the future, then this cart is the obvious choice. And it's only a few dollars more then the other two. Also, it may get some features in the future that no other cart has. But like Pharaoh mentioned, you never know what will happen in the future.

I have all three of them. And out of the three, I think I like the SCDS1 the most. But this is just my personal preference, and does not mean it's a better cart than the other two. I really like the GUI. And all the features and options are fun to play with.

Really, it doesn't matter which one you go with. They all do the samething that you ultimately want. And that is play commercial DS games, and run homebrew games and apps.

EDIT: Just saw the new DsOne has been released.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

Thank you for the replies. I followed PharaohsVizier survey link and just read everyones opinion and was very informative. I decided to go with the R4 because of the price, would have liked to have the cyclo evo but RHS is out of stock and i really hate to wait of things ;D. At first i really wanted to get the DSone but one thing most of the people whom i've talked to say about it is that its really not easy to use as the others and well at my age i need simple things :'(.

good choice the R4 is an AWSOME CARD  .. don't get me wrong theres nothing wrong with other cards out there but at the minute R4 is kicking butt with good flow of updates and fixes with the most recent giving us MOONSHELL 1.71 built in and 100% game and 100% download compatability  :D

personally I cannot fault it  :)

others here swear by the SCONE/cyclo evo /ds link etc  but im happy with my R4 and so are hundreds of others out there  :)

It is a tough question to answer.  You definitely will love the R4.  If I do a quick reiteration of my survey, I am sure the results will change.  These carts are all pumping out new features, I can't imagine how much it'll change in the next month or two.  I mean download play isn't an issue anymore, all carts are fairly easy to use, CycloDS Evolution promises new features....  I really can't wait to see what happens next.
