Online Backups with the PS2

hey guys, i have swap magic, and a phat ps2, but my friend wants to trade me his silver slim ps2 for it and its very tempting what i want to know is will backups of games that can go online (like battlefield, SOCOM 2, and armegeddon) work with the silver ps2 slim and if they will how would i go about doing that exactly? also would the swap magic work on a silver slim ps2 in the first place? its SCHP 77001 i want to him ps2s but i need to know these things first

you would need a new tool from a suplyer (swap cards dont work on slim) that keeps your lid open but still lets the disc spin, but other than that the swap magic should work fine as well as the backups im not sure about online play, but i think it should work but it may lag a little

yes i know the slide card wouldnt work, what i want to know is if there is any issues i need to know about with this model number not working with swap magic, and i heard that you have to patch the iso or something to get it to work online can anyone give me any info about this and if it would work on this model of ps2?

If you try to play online with backups you'll get a DNAS error. There is a patch to change the DNAS code in the disc, but you also need the codes, which i didn't find. Also I don't think I can give you the page to get those codes.

ok well i could always buy the original games for the ones that are online, but for sure swap magic will work on SCHP 77001 model? i dont want to end up trading and then have it not work

I have the same model but in black, and i'm using a Matrix Infinity modchip. In my opinion it's better to have a modchip installed, but i'm reading in another forum and it seems you don't have to do anything to the console. I'm not sure about that, so if you must use Swap Magic i think you should try it on the other console first.

i found out that swap magic works on the model so im not worried about that, but if anyone could give more info about DNAS patching it would be appreciated

To patch the DNAS code you have to create an image of the game you want to patch, then with the program (forgot its name, found it once in google) you change the code and save the edited image. Then you burn the image to a DVD and it should work. Another thing is that you can't use any number, I think there are like 2 or 4 numbers in the code that are random, the others depend on the game. If the mods say it's ok i'll post the address of the patching tutorial.
