I got a micro and i just want to make sure im getting the right thing

This is compatible with gameboy micro?
And you can download GBA games and they are compatitble with it, also does it run movies/MP3's like a R4DS?

meangreenie

Yes it is, but to be honest i wouldn't recommend a supercard for gba games.. for ds games they are great but for gba there are better options about.

Take a look at the EZ4 range for a good cost effective solution for gba games, remember if you get the 'lite' version (made to fit flush in a ds-lite) to make sure it comes with a standard size gba shell so it will fit in the gba micro, or you can get the mini-sd version which come in a gba sized case...note, don't get the ez4-compact, it doesn't play gba games.
Yes I'm mad

Does the EZ4 Play music?
because i did want a MP3 type thing on my micro so i dont have to carry to many things on me?
And is it internal memory?

Also whats wrong with the Supercard MiniSD, i don't mind about price is there something wrong about GBA game Compatibility

meangreenie

Well the supercards suffer with slow down in many gba games because of it's slow internal memory. I love my supercard for it's ds abilities, but it's not so good with gba, which is common knowledge in the flashcart community.

As for mp3's and such in gba mode I have no-idea sorry. Though I expect there are gba apps that can do this.

And yes afaik all gba flashcarts work on gba micros.

Here is a link to a good Ez flash forum.. http://www.ezflash.sosuke.com/

Hmm might have to rethink now, then how much memory does the EZ4 have or roughly how many games can you store?

meangreenie

If you buy a 1GB mem card for it..   ermm, loads  (150-200 using an average gba rom size of 4-8mb)

Yep thats exactly right. I have one of those as well as my SC-CF.

It's very good for gba roms. If you decide to get one you can always pm me and i will help you get the best out of it, at least for gba roms. Note though it doesn't have a real time clock for the few games like pokemon series, but those games can patched to run without it.

It also does play ds roms fairly well too (with the aid of a passkey device), if you ever get a ds in the future. I noticed that site doesn't mention that.

Oh ok thanks im gonna go buy it now, I dont think id need it for a DS since i already got a R4
but when it arrives i'll PM you thanks

The GBA is too underpowered to play MP3 files in real-time, so you'll need to convert to a different format first.  If you go to the official Supercard forums at http://forum.supercard.cn and search for "mp3 on gba" you'll find a few posts I made that explain the two options you have and the one I recommend using.

How does this card measure up to the SuperCard in terms of managing saves, how does the menu work/look like, do you have to "patch" the roms etc. I'm interested since I've got a bit tired of my SuperCard SD because of the patching procedures and of course the most important; slowdowns in games.
