All right I have a few questions for you guys.  You guys probably heard many of them repeatedly, but I'm a noob to this and I decided to jump back on my ds once i saw Zelda:PH come out  :D...First I have a supercard mini sd and last time I tried getting some games for it probably back when Elite Beat Agents came out, around that time I tried playing some games going through the usual steps, but when I select it either the games keep scrolling past the bytes number or it gets to the number and stops or acts like it's going to play, but get only a black screen FOREVER :-\, I've been reading about how you might need to patch your sc? get a faster sd card? and or patching the game?  Well I've tried patching the game using the dslazy program and arm7 thingy cause some guy referred me to it, but it still didn't work.  I havn't patched my sc yet cause i don't know where to get it so I was wondering if you guys could tell me this site and what steps I need to go through.  Secondly I hear about faster sd cards and organizing the card?  I was wondering what cards all you sc users prefer (price doesn't matter) I currently have a regular sandisk 1gb which sucks i know, but I was also curious as to how much memory the sc can hold cause I saw an 8gb :o card and was wondering if that would work?  And about the folder thing I guess organizing it makes your game run faster? dunno..but any info about that would be great.  Well I probably have more questions somewhere in my head, but that's all for now cause I think getting my ds to play games again is most important everybodies help is appreciated.  Thanks  :smitten:

Ok OK firstly lets get your supercard (slot 2) up to date, below is the supercard web site and updates you will need.
Its a slot 2 card you have or a slot 1? slot 2 being the gameboy advance slot?

http://eng.supercard.cn/   Just scroll to your card and download the latest!

You need to flash your SC which is described on the site and to get games to work on the slot 2 cards such as supercard lite and rumble you have to use the supplied patch software which you don't sound to be doing!

" keep scrolling past the bytes number " usually does this when not patched!

MEMORY
..................
This has been said loads and loads of times on the supercard web site and here too i imagine, but the truth is 99% of DS games will work at normal speed on pretty much any SD card! My 2 ,2gig cards are the cheapest i could get and both different makes and work perfectly and have NEVER seen any slow down so i wouldn't worry about it!!

No supercard can go above 2 gigs unless its the NEWEST SCS1 which came out about 2 weeks ago and can apparently take a whopping 32 gig card! even though only up to 4-6 gigs are available just now, So if your sticking with your original SC then its 2 gigs max and make or model won't make a noticeable difference.

" And about the folder thing I guess organizing it makes your game run faster? "

No i don't think so mate ,i have an R4 (slot 1) and supercard lite (slot 2) and put my ds games where ever i like but usually in ( /DS Games ) folder which i made up, also i have another folder for emularors and anpther for homebrew and movies/music, all in the root of the memory card.

The only time you would need to worry about placing files is when its a homebrew or emulator as you some times need the configuration file to be in the root of the SD card or Games/roms for use on emulators need to be in a /roms folder in the root! but normal DS games go any where.

So to recap and hopefully not to have confused you too much  :crazy2:

1) Update your SC firmware with latest from SC web site (link above)

2) Patch each official DS game with SC patching software (if its slot 2) slot 1 doesn't require patching and its just a simple drag and drop to any where on your SC.

3) Any SD card will work and won't slow or stop the game working!

4) You can place your DS games any where you like with out slow down or any other problems, homebrew some times requires a little organization but its rare and tells you when that needs to be done.

5) If you want t ouse a memory card larger than 2 gigs then buy the new SUPERCARD (SCS1) which supports up to 32 gigs (future proof)

Ok off for a coffee  :D  regards ,paul
