I got a 360 Thursday, everything is cool, having fun playing Forza 2 and whatnot. I buy Halo 3 on Saturday, play a bit solo, then sign up for live the next day. I get an urge to play Forza again, and midway through a race one of my friends invites me to play Halo 3. I accept, put in the disc and wait for it to boot... nothing happens. Try a lot of different things to get it working, then finally decide on formatting the drive. It works, yay, but now I lost all my saves, downloads, and Hexic HD game. On Monday, it works fine, but once again, it's stopped working today. I noticed after a rather long session of Halo 3 that the disc drive was making really odd noises, but nothing was freezing or  lagging. I suspected that it had to do with my previous problem, so I restart the console, and once again it can't read discs. So now I've decided that I'm just gonna return it. This is extremely frustrating. Not even a week in and the thing breaks down. *Note: I'm absolutely positive it is the hardware. I have tested multiple discs, none of which worked. 

Anyone else have a similar story to share?

Damn, sorry to hear that man. Mine has been going strong since the day I got it. Hopefully it'll stay that way
