1. Where can i get the cheapest but still long in length, HDMI cable for my PS3?

2. Is there a 15-pin VGA adapter for the HDMI cable so can play games on my monitor?

3.My monitor's max res is 1280 by 1024 pixels. What resolution would my PS3 play at on that monitor?

4. How bad is a 25ms refresh rate? Like how bad would ghosting be?

Thanks!!

I purchased my HDMI cable at Fry's for about $30.  Longer cables are about $60+.  Don't waste your money on name brand cables like Monster.  HDMI is pure digital so any cheap cable should work fine.

I've seen both HDMI->DVI cables and HDMI->VGA adapters.  If your monitor accepts DVI then an HDMI to DVI cable should work great.

The PS3 will output 720x480, 1280x720, and 1920x1080. Most PS3 games look great at 1280x720 or higher.  Theoretically your monitor can show this resolution if it's smart enough to crop 1024 down to 720. Using a monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio is recommended.

A 25ms refresh rate is not good for games. You will want a monitor with 6ms or less refresh rate.

this is possible but only with a signal converter box. these can be expensive.

hdmi is digital, vga is analogue.  DVI comes in digital and analogue, so if you are lucky you might get off cheaply here, but i doubt it

How about an LCD-TV with a 8ms response time? Would that be good?

I think an 8ms response time should be acceptable.  That is much better than 25ms.

8ms = in theory 125 changes per second, it doesnt get that because of other reasons, but basically, it will work fine for 60fps
