My friend and I recently put shock! cases on our ds lites cause we wanted to be trendy, but now the touch screens dont work on either. I replaced my case completely, my friend just did his bottom case. I took them back apart, and everything looks fine, I know theres only a small ribbon cable connecting the touch screen to the motherboard and we didnt mess with it at all and its securely in their now. Has anybody replaced their touch screens or know about it and can help me?

Does the screen like power on, and you just can't get it to recognize being touched?  Or is it completely black too?
Dealextreme sells replacement screens and seperate touch screen layer or w/e they are called btw

the fact that the ds powers up and he can tell that the touch screen isnt working means that it is the touch screen ribbon cable that isnt working

all i can say is that cable is likely to be damaged, or the touch screen is.

have you tried going into calibrate mode just to be sure? did anything get wedged between the touch screen and the case? (even dust etc)

this happens with my 2 kids ds's all the time they get crisps and all sorts of bits of junk stuck inbetween the screen and the case  ..

My tip for cleaning it is to VERY CAREFULLY use the squared off corner of a bit of paper slipped CAREFULLY and not too deep! ... between the case and the touch screen rotating/sliding it along and  in an outward motion away from the edges of the touch screen doing this all the way around the touch screen to force out the dirt and debris between the screen and casing

then recalibrate once you have performed the above process and see If that makes any difference
