Real time saves

With real time save enabled in the Patch menu, does the SCDS1 have to make a new 5mb save for each game?

Because I think I have something like 20mb free on my 2gb. But when I have rts enabled, a lot of the games won't start. I get that no support data error message when the SCDS is loading the game. But when I turn rts off, the game loads just fine. And the games that I have already played with rts enabled, loads just fine. I guess because the save was made when I had a lot of space left on my microsd.

So, a 5mb save has to be made for each game right? If that's true, then I have to have quite a bit of free space on my microsd, to have rts enabled for every game. I mean, I don't need rts for every game(just the ones with horrendous saving like NSMB). But it would be nice to know that I can enable it whenever I want. Instead of getting on the computer and making some room on my microsd.

Yes, each game has it's own file, so you can go back to it at anytime in the future.

It is given the same file name as the game and save files, only with it's own extension.

You could always copy off the RTS files you have, and put them back when you need them.

Thanks for the info Mike. I just deleted one 64mb game off the microsd, and now there seems to be enough room for the saves.

Thanks.

you may want to keep it disabled, just enable if you really playing a game that you need.. this will prevent to games that do not need the RTS get a sci file...

I contatect romman and asked if they could make a system that only creates the save file when you press the hotkey

Ooohhh...so it creates this 5mb save file for every game, even if you don't use the feature for that game? Yeah, that's freakin' lame. I mean kudos to the Supercard Team for bringing us this great feature(seriously, it's awesome). But they need to correct it to only make the file when you actually use the feature.

Yeah, I'll keep it disabled until I"m going to use it. Thanks for letting me know about this Dudu.

Please let us know what he says to you about it.

EDIT: Ok, I just checked my microsd, and you're right. The SCDS1 creates an SCI file, if RTS is enabled, even if you don't pretty the RTS hotkey function.

I was wondering how my microsd ran out of space so quickly. Seriously, thank you for letting me know about this.

Good point.  It would be nice if the RTS feature only worked for games in a certain directory. Although it isn't too big of a deal to turn the RTS feature off and on as needed.  The problem is remembering to do it.  Also keep in mind that you only need the 5MB file until you reach the next checkpoint.  At the end of the day you can always use DSOrganise to delete the RTS files after the game is properly saved at a checkpoint.

i dont like swithcing the realtime save files to default for each realtimesave, why can they just make the realtimesaving like the gbas, with four slots that appear on the screen when you press the hot key, its  annoying having to go the the main supercard menu and switching the slot you want to default.
