It's that time again, DSDatabase is hosting another tournament!  All you need is a WiFi connection and Mario Kart DS (real or ROM  :rofl: ) to participate.  The rules and regulations as well as everything you need to know is located here:

TOURNAMENT BEGINS JANUARY 25th, 2008
A tournament chart will be created by me to show where you are in the tournament. I will be picking names out of a box to determine who plays against who for the first round.

[size=18]- All entrants to the Mario Kart DS tournament are automatically entered into the free raffle[/size]-  Winners of the Mario Kart DS tournament prizes cannot win a second prize
-  Draw occurs at the end of the Mario Kart DS Tournament
-  1 prize to the name drawn out of the box (refer to the bottom of the post), if person does not respond within 72 hours, a second draw will occur

Tournament Format:
- 4 Player WiFi Matches
- 4 Courses at 100cc
- Top 3 of the 4 players advance to the next round, last place is disqualified
- Snaking is allowed
- A separate forum section will be opened for discussion of times to play
- You will have 24 hours per round to decide on a suitable time and complete the match
- The entire tournament's end time will depend on how many entries we receive by the 21st

Disqualifications:
- CHEATERS AND HACKERS WILL BE DQ'D + IP BANNED FROM THESE FORUMS PERMANENTLY (no programs or tools except for your fingers)
- Matches MUST be completed within 48 hours per round. If not, the person who is responsible for the delay will be DQ'd- This is an honor system, if both contestants claim they won, we'll have no choice but to DQ both players from the tournament
- Admins reserve the right to DQ users suspected of foul play

Further Notes:
- Admins/Moderators WILL also be participating in this tournament if they so choose, as it is a tournament to showoff skill. Unlike the free raffle, there are no biases, only pure skill.
- If a winner decides they don't have time to continue in the tournament, they are allowed to pass their spot in the tournament to the losing opponent.
- If our prize winner does not wish to receive the prize, the prize will go to the runner up in the tournament.

**Further rules may be added as time passes, but these are all I can come up with right now. Feel free to suggest rules for our consideration.**

You may as well just change the name of the tournament to Mario Kart "Damned Snakers" Tournament because that's all who is going to win. Sorry but I'll pass

Well there is a free raffle, the entire point of the free raffle is to point out that you don't need to be a snaker to win, in fact, you don't even need to know how to play Mario Kart to win.    It'll be fun!  Besides, so far tennisgy(topspin) is the only guy whos a super pro that's joined so far, at least to my knowledge.

Yeah, that's a WR right there. 

If you don't bother to snake then you just suck at the game honestly.  It's like not wavedashing or something in SSBM, it's done by the people who are good.

Just to prevent a flamewar, let's try to avoid an argument on snaking.  Keep the discussion about the tournament itself please.

Yes, it seems a bit of bad luck for me as my server gets attacked just a few days before the actual tournament.  It has been postponed, and I will notify everyone when the site is back up.  Right now  can't even access the list of people...
