Sega Master System.  Previously your only good options were SMS Advance for the GBA and DSMasterPlus for the DS, but now the creator of jEnesisDS has come out with ApprenticeMinus DS which I've heard is very good, especially for a first release.

EDIT:  yay for not seeing there was a third page, hehe.

The Cyclos DS came, and it's great. How do I install emulators? Where is the best place to find ROM's, and how do I get the running then?

dantheman

Installing an emulator is usually just as easy as copying certain files to your memory card.  Read the emulator's README file for full details.

We cannot supply you with roms, sorry.

I downloaded SNESmul DS, and I get a blank screen saying 'Initialise FS' every time I try to run it. What's wrong? Is there an alternate DS SNES emulator?

you need to prolly dldi patch it for your card :)

dantheman

What card are you using?  Which version of SNEmulDS?  Where did you put SNEmulDS.nds, snemul.cfg, and your SNES games?

Assasin's Creed, The World ends with you and Ninja Gaiden don't seem to be working for me...are these known for not working on a Cyclo DS?

Squash-n-Stretch

What is the best GBA Emulator to download for my Cyclo DS?

ratx

There is no GBA emulator for the DS. Your best bet is to buy slot 2 flash card, or an ez 3 in 1 etc and run the GBA games that way.

Squash-n-Stretch

That's insane...how can there not be?? Ah well...that is pretty weird though. Anyone know why not?

ratx

There is a lot of debate around if its even possible. It does seem a bit pointless given the DS has a gameboy advance built in + nearly everyone who wants to try GBA stuff has a slot 2 card or can afford to buy for eg a 3 in 1.

The DS isn't all that much more powerful than the GBA, at least not enough to emulate it comfortably.  GBA games run so fundamentally differently than DS games that you can't simply run GBA games from slot-1, so you'd need a software-based emulator which would in all likelihood be slow and very glitchy even if it was made.  Plus, like ratx said, nobody's going to bother putting too much effort into a low-compatibility software emulator when the DS already has 99%-compatible GBA hardware emulation built-in.

Goomba Color was made because although the GBA played GBC games natively, GBC flash carts were relatively rare and expensive.  This is not the case with this generation, as GBA flash carts are very plentiful and widespread, so there's not nearly as much demand for a GBA emulator for the DS as there was for a GBC emulator for the GBA.

Squash-n-Stretch

That's nuts :D

So is there an cart that takes mini SD that I can use in my DS and my Gameboy player for the Gamecube?
