Extract midi files from DS games?

The wav files ndssndext.exe generates are not the same as the midis ndssndext.exe generates.

All of the nds game melodies are found only in the midis.

Therefore, I still need a good midi to mp3 converter

MIDI files aren't really audio files at all; they're more like sheet music.  You still have to have the computer run them and interpret it at runtime.  This makes it a different format than a recorded audio format like WAV or MP3, making it harder to find a converter.

As I don't know of any decent MIDI-to-mp3 programs, I'd suggest doing what you're currently doing, using Winamp to convert to WAV and then a program like Wavepad to batch convert the output files to MP3 all at once.
