Unfortunately, like bilblt (i think that username is correct), -well, not like him because it was his friend- my ds lite has broken down. When i turn on the power switch, no light comes on. when i plug it into the mains via the charger, the orange light blinks and dies. So what do i do?!?  I was hoping with some help i could put together a guide to help people with that problem and similar ones, so get posting!

In the meantime, can anyone help me? i am going to probably get a new battery and test that to see if it is blown. However, i am only 13 and dont know an awful lot about circuit boards and all that. Also, i have no tools, eg soldering iron (although i know how to use one) and not even a screwdriver to get into my ds! I tried using a knife, heh heh, but it didnt work and ruined my screw. If i do it again i will never be able to unscrew it again because of the damage...SO NEVER USE A KNIFE ON DS SCREWS[/b][/u]! also i have never looked at the circuit board. If i got a new circuitboard would i be ok?



Oh, and to get the guide rolling...Number one step if you have my problem, get a new battery?

sounds like you've blown the internal fuse (Most likely F2).

To fix first you need to get a tri-wing screwdriver (available on ebay and online stores like RHS)
