Quote from: "burt"Ok guys i have downloaded software and got some roms im now just waiting for supercard to arrive, i have put a rom through the patching software and the end result is 3 files (gba, sav, sci) which of the 3 need to be transfered to sd card or do all three? any help much appreciated

thanks
burt

All three need to be transfered.

.gba is the game.
.sav is the normal save file
.sci is the super card save state file type

If you do NDS games you'll get 2 files.

.nds.dsi (if the game loads into the super card ram) or .nds.dsq (if it loads directly from the CF/SD) these are the actual games
.sav is for normal DS saves.

when i download the firmware is version 1.52 an add on  ie do i have to put version 1.5 on first then use 1.52 as an update or just put 1.52 straight on

thanks

Yes, you have to update to 1.50 before you can use 1.52

Run the 1.50 update like you would any GBA game (in GBA mode), then put the 1.52 update on your card and when you turn the system your DS should automatically see it and update it.

im doing this on a gba not on a ds, so pressume i put version 1.5 onto sd card load it up and turn it on, when it asks me to update say yes, then remove 1.5 from sd card put 1.52 onto sd card and do same thing again - is this correct

thanks

The 1.5 update (if it's the one from the site) is the entire firmware, you run it just like you would any GBA game.

The 1.52 update will ask if you want to upgrade as you turn on the DS when you put it on. But yes, do them one at a time.

Honestly though, you don't need to update to 1.52 if you are only going to use it for GBA only.

So do i have to leave the 1.5 firmware on the sd card permanantley or does it load onto gba and stay there? Also one other question - does it make any difference which sd card i buy ive seen normal ones and high speed ones, does it make any difference which one i use?

thanks

You can delete the upgrade files, they aren't needed once you run them, and also the high speed cards are slightly faster than the regular.  It'll bump your loading and saving performance alittle, so if you've got the cash I'd go for it.
S Setup:
1st Gen DS
Flashme 5 w/ Superpass and Supercard SD
Limited edition Miyamoto signed orange DS Skin
Limited edition Kirby! pink stylus
Now Playing: Nintendogs w/ Jack Russel Terrier

It will help on SOME brands. Some brands are already faster then others, and there is a limit to how fast SC can run. So don't bother with super duper ultra mega fast ones and thing that'll make things run perfectly.
