I just recently got my supercard SD, all is ok except a few games they lockup as im trying them, in particular phoenix wright it will play ok for a bit then just lockup anyone know why it does it is it a common problem?

Koji

There is only one real cause for lockups. That is a CF or SD card that is too slow.

Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that your CF/SD card is too slow at all, but it could be because either the card is too full (try leaving 15-20% of the space on the card free) or it's fragmented and needs to be reformatted or at least defragmented (though I've never had any luck just defragmenting myself)

Freezes in Phoenix Wright are a known problem.

They happen when the game ask you to save, but the game is saved anyway. Just push "START+SELECT+L+R" ou turn off/on your game and reload the last save to continue.

yeah, I played that game for days with no problem, but then suddently I had the same problem,  it was as Koji said: Phoenix right (and Osu, ...)  doestn't like a full memory card. Backed up my files, formatted the card, then just put half games on, and there was no problem.

before NDS roms I used to leave 20 to 40 mg on the disk and never had issues now with the lager roms I am having problems with lockups, keeping the extra room at the end has helped a lot with the lockups.
