Saving DS Games with the new firmware

I realize to most this post will seem ignorant, but I've really done my best to search for the info, and I just can't fully understand how to save DS games.

with my GBA games, I just do the realtime save. It seems the most convenient, and I've never been able to get the other type of save to work properly.

I assume with DS I use the L+R+select+A command. When I've used this before with GBA, my game never loaded back to my save when I started it again. Something I read said wait until you reach a normal save spot in game, then hit L+R+select+A command. So for example, would this mean in something like Trace Memory, I access the games builty in save function, and save as though I actually had the game, then, after that save is done I do the Supercard save? Then to load, when I start the game, should it automatically start at my last saved location, or do I need to access some sort of load command?

If anyone could give me a real detailed explanation of how saving DS games works with the new firmware (in other words, not saving onto the card in my superpass), it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

P.S. I see on the supercard site it says I can load games onto the supercard for play or play directly from the SD/CF card. How do I access this option to change it? I don't see it in the options menu. Right now loading a DS 64mb game takes around 2 minutes. It would be nice to not have that wait.

In the patching software, double click the file you've added. Pick both save position and ROM position to either SD or CF (depending on which SC you have) and then boot the game. Quicker loading and games save features will work as normal!
