MP3 players and Supercard SD

I'm interested in buying a Digital Audio Player like an iPod soon for the kickin' tunes and the ability to use it to store files like an external hard drive.  Since I'm getting a Supercard SD soon, I thought of another idea.

I've seen some audio players that can download pictures from digital cameras or that can transfer the files from the camera's card to the audio player for storage.  Is there any way I can get an audio player that can hold music and receive files through an SD reader or an SD port?  I mean, how badass is that?  You can literally take all of your roms with you on the road.  It's useful for people like me who don't have laptops.     I've searched the internet for something like it, but I haven't had any such luck.  Does anything like this exist?  Thanks.

If you have a camera or audio player or anything else that has an SD card slot, you can probably use it's software to transfer roms and such to the SD card and then play it on the NDS. If that's what you mean...

Or are you asking if there is a way to transfer mp3's and such so that you can play them on your NDS? If so, then yes. Moonshell has image viewers as well as MP3, OGG, and DPG (NDS Mpeg format)

umm....
Why not just put all your Roms on your sd card and take it with you?

i think what he means is to get a 20gb music player type thing with an sd slot. then u cud put all ur roms on ur music player and cud change which roms r on the sd card via the music player.....so u could carry round every rom even though u only have say a 512mb sd card. i dont which (if any) mp3 players will allow u to transfer files from the built in space to an optional sd card, but it would b really handy.

Yes, Lemoe got my meaning.  This would be useful for trips and vacations where I wouldn't have access to a computer.  512 MB can't possibly hold everything I want to store on my NDS.  Think of this as having access to an external hard drive that holds every file you'd ever want to play with your Supercard SD but can't fit on a small SD card.

I have a digital camera, but the software only lets me transfer pictures to the camera.  Does anyone know of a program I could download that would let me transfer any file types?

u can get the apacer steno.. i have it, for use with psp and nds.  it's not a media player, but it is a battery powered hard drive that has serving capabilities. you can attach a psp directly to it, or a usb card reader, and serve files to your SD/CF card from the unit, with no PC.

it's pretty much worth it.. :)

I think I found the good stuff, gentlemen.  It's the Gmini 20GB player from Archos.  (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AA7MQA/sr=1-1/qid=1137287495/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-1678050-3698516?%5Fencoding=UTF8)

I've read that the CF port on it can only read CF cards (or myriad others through adapters), but this is a USB host that can recognize USB mass storage devices.  So, a USB SD reader would work with this, in addition to things like flash drives and cameras.

Any opinions?  My only concern is that many of you talk about patching roms before transferring them to the Supercard.  Is this something that's tedious and should be done with a computer, or could I patch all of my roms and store them with this?
