Hey all im planing to flahs my new firmware ds.

I have a couple of questions i was hoping i could get answered.

1. what is the best item to use to bridge sl1?
2. what part of the flashing process does failsafe get copied to the ds.
3.has anyone seen a supercard and superpass2 tutorial on the net?

Im allitle concerned as its my first time flashign any kind of ds and i want the bridging process to go as smoothly as posible so im going to have a few backup items in case the first one does not work.

Currently i have a flast head screwdriver (the ones that come in the mini screwdriver kits with a black tip)
then i have a paperclip that has been stretched out the folded back down to make a U shape. Then i also have a wire i found and striped to revead all the coper wires. i have twisted all the wires togeather and folded the tip up to make it have a nice clean rounded point.

Any other advice would be greatfull.

PS. any one from sydney australia?

Thank you all in advance

1. I used the same screwdriver I used to open the battery cover.

2. The first part

thanx for your quick reply

Something like that but I don't know the exact figures, nor would I want to test for it.  :)

spas

yeah i dont want to test it, but im trying to plan out worst case scenario.
LOL
Thanks again

I think the recovery code is like the first 17% or so. If it gets to 25% before the DS loses power, you should be good to recover.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

OK thanx, fingers crossed that i dont need it.

The first 64KB of code is the protected code (which contains the restore)

Assuming flashme more or less rewrites the entire 512KB of flash in the firmware, that'd be about 1/8th or 12.5%. So 20% should be be the absolute safety zone.

cool lets hope i dont need to wory about it.
im hoping everyting goes smoothly.

All will be fine. Just keep a power supply plugged into the DS while you do the flash, and make sure the battery does not fall out when you do it either. If you don't see the percentage go up, gently move your small flathead screwdriver around in the hole. You'll eventually get to 100%. Sometimes you'll hit it on the mark and go to 100% without a pause, but most of the time you'll lose connection. Just do not turn off the unit till you get to 100%. When you are done you'll be kicking yourself on how easy it really is.

superpass 2 should be here tomorow so i will try then.

Im gona tape the battery down just to make sure it does not fall out.

im worried that the superpas 2 will break my ds slot.

i heard it has done that befor.

Just remember to push the button to eject the superpass 2 cart instead of pulling it out. That should minimize the risk of it breaking your ds slot.

yeah i was reading some post on this forum that the correct way to remove it is to pull it out a tinch like 3 mm. then push it back in and it will come out like a reguler ds game
