Hello..

Can I repatch the already patched ones which are on my SD card and expect them to with with new version firmware?

Or can you only patch clean roms?

Thanks.

fitzie

Sorry you need the clean roms...

thewarden

Thanks, how about the .sav files? Can I keep them?

Yeh, to my knowledge you can.  How else would you keep your saves?

Carnivean

You should try the game first before repatching. If it runs it'll save you considerable time refinding and repatching everything.

Koji

Saves should always work 100% fine between versions. This is because they are direct dumps of the save data. The DS games write directly to the SD card in the exact same way they'd save to a real DS cart.

Thanks, just in the process of collecting everything again...

I keep all of my roms clean, and just patch as I want to play them. I set the output directory in the SC patching software to point directly to the path of my memory card reader. Works great!

Wouldn't that overwrite your .sav file if you are re-patching something? i.e. repatching Osu! Tatakae! Oendan! to utilise the "Fast Loading".

Just make sure you take you save off the flash card before you patch, then re-copy it over after you finish. I always copy my saves to the HD when I get the chance anyway. Always good to have a backup.
