pny 512mb cf not working with supercard

Hello.  I have a red ds with a supercard.  I purchased an inexpensive 512mb cf and have been running/playing GBA's on it without any problems.  Recently, I purchased a PNY 512mb cf, which happens to load games faster.  But, for some reason, while loading a game, the PNY stops and gives you a white screen.  I have tried to format the cf with FAT, recopied the games.  But, I still get the same white screen (without the game ever loading).  As I mentioned, the cheaper one (which is slower) has no problems loading and running the game.  THe PNY is made by Toshiba.  Does anyone have any advice?

I"m thinking that maybe the PNY is too fast.  Or PNY is not recommended.
Thanks in advance

I think the only explantion is that the PNY Cf card has a contact problem. Try putting it in and out a few times and even cleaning the contacts ( a spray of lighter gas and spay nozzle from whateverever is about has worked wonders for me in the past, but I have no idea how safe that is really).

I have a super fast CF card of unknown make which wouldn't even register on one supercard but works fine on another??? (copies 64mb in under 2 secs, seems fast to me and noticably faster than the Kingston and Lexar ones I have, which takes @10 second to copy the same amount of data to)

So maybe a last resort, maybe take a can of lighter gas and a tooth brush to the supercard in question and the cf card....let them dry for 1/2 an hour before reconnecting and powering up, again insert each item a few times to ensure good contact.
Yes I'm mad

Thanks for the advice.  I actually purchased two brand new PNY 512mb cards.  Both gave the same results even though I formatted them first.  I guess I will have to try another brand.  Thanks.

I have a Toshiba PNY 2GB CF card. works like a pro...so I would highly recommend the card. Try reformatting I guess. You are just trying to load GBA roms, or DS roms? What version of the firmware/patch software are you using? Are you formatting FAT? Windows defaults to try to format Fat32, you must change the option in the dropdown menu to Fat and format.

The CF card I purchased and just returned was PNY (made by Toshiba).  I reformatted both cards to FAT (not FAT32).  I have loaded GBA roms only (since I haven't been successful at researching and figuring out how to run DS roms yet).  I have read on other posts that there are members who have had problems with PNY sc cards.  So, instead of hastling with it, I returned them and purchased a kingston card.  I will try tonight.  Thanks for all the help.

Okay everyone.  I am totally embarassessed.  This is what happened.  I kept a copy of the GBA's in a file.  But, before copying it to my cf, I converted them.  After copying them, I deleted the converted files from my computer (thinking that I kept them).  Then, when setting up a new CF, I copied the GBA files to the CF.  That is why they didn't work.  They needed to be converted.

Thank you all for your help and patience with us newbies.  We all appreciate the time, information, and effort.

Happy New Years.
