Question about Flash Cart

Hi, I am going to buy a Flash2Advance Ultra (2GB) and want to know what it will work like on the DS (Lite).

1. I know the F2A will run GBA games on my GBA but will it run GBA games OK on a DS?

2. If I got the Superkey (not Supercard), will this allow me to put DS roms on the GBA Flash2Advance and play them?

3. Is the F2A cart compatible with the Superkey?

4. I don't understand what flashing your DS means, and I've read that it could ruin the DS Lite. Will running the F2A from my DS have any chance of harming my machine or is it the Superkey that does the harm? Will everything work fine if I just put the Superkey in the DS slot, and the F2A in the GBA slot when I want to play a DS rom file, and ignore all this 'flashing' business?

By the way, I'm not going to play DS roms until the machine is dead. I am still going to buy DS games in the shops and only use the Superkey when I have done with the machine in a few years. I just need to know what I need to be able to play GBA games on both the GBA and DS and what I need to play DS games.

As you can tell, I am very confused as to what each product does. Hope you can answer the questions soon as I am thinking about buying these devices soon. Thank you.

Yes.  F2A will work the same for GBA games on the DS.

I know F2A can run DS homebrew.  I think F2A can only run a few patched commercial DS roms.  You need a Supercard or M3 product to run commercial DS game roms.

3. Is the F2A cart compatible with the Superkey?
Yes.  The Superkey lets you run DS code from a GBA flash card.  It works like a Passme2/Superpass2, but it's a more compact solution.

Flashing your DS means changing the factory firmware.  Changing the DS firmware will eliminate the need for using a Superkey.  Flashme also provides a recovery option if your DS is bricked by malware. Unfortunately there is a risk of bricking a DS trying to flash it. Bricking is rare and there are ways to recover.  Flashme is optional.
