I have a flashed ds and hosting games doesnt seem to work because the other ds gets stuck on the screen. I read another thread that says that flashed ds wont check for the signature. Im just asking if this supposly (sp) will work. I nonflashed ds + superkey + Supercard hosting and a flashed ds trying to download, will this work.

Altor

Flashme and Passme perform the same function but I don't think a flashed and non-flashed can do download-play properly, even with the passme there.

Would sure be awesome if FlashmeV8 somehow fixed this!

Hmm... Does anyone know if a flashed and non-flashed can in communicate in LAN if one person had a real cart and the other has a supercard?  I mean, it works for wifi... hmm...

you mean if i have a flashed ds and mario kart  rom on my supercard, and  you have a ds and the real mario kart cartridge, yes we can both play through lan
(wireless comunication)
black Ds lite (flash me V7)
2GB MicroSD japan kingston

Here it goes for better undestanding

Person A
Flashed Ds

Person B
Non-flash Ds
Supercard/superkey

Person B hosts a single card download play game. Will Person A be able to download succesfully? While talking about flashed stuff. Is the color brightness adjustment only off and most light?

bitblt

Yes, that will work with most games.

I've tried download playing with my Supercard/Passme with someone who had no game and it almost never works.  Mostly newer multiplayer games (Tetris, MPH, NSMB) don't load up, but Mario Kart does.

I dunno if it's just me, but I know it does happen.

Have you tried this?

Have you tried playing with the original game (instead of a rom)?
DS without flashme verify the signature on all download play games. Patching tends to change the file, thus breaking the signature. Thus flashme is not causing the problem, your rom is.

I don't think that is entirely correct.  Most single card games work fine from a flashed->flashed DS and nonflashed->flashed DS, but don't work from flashed->nonflashed DS.  Mario Kart and FIFA for example.  I think the problem is flashme disables encryption so flashed->nonflashed will fail verification after upload.

Multi Player?

From my experience:

A Non Flashed DS wont be able to play a game sent from a DS using a SuperCard.

Thus we found that Using a superKey and sending the game from the Non-Flashed DS would be best.

However even sending to another non-flashed ds will fail :(

There are some games that will still work if they havent got RSA implemented...

Thus in summary: If you have more than one non-flashed DS, flashThem or everyone get a supercard and do multicart Play.

What I said still holds true in this case. The signature verification is only done on the recieving DS, not on the sending DS. In the first two cases, the recieving DS has flashme, thus does not verify the (broken) signature. In the last case, it does not have flashme, thus it aborts when it recieves a download play game with a broken signature.

Multicart play will generally not be affected, because in that case you are not going through download play, thus no signatures are being checked.

Well, I have to admit your explanation seems logical.

dark_wing

it probably doesn't work because you can't download play from a flashed ds if your ds isn't flashed already

We know.  We are trying to figure out why.

Tetris worked for me when I sent it from the supercard to a non-flashed DS. Jump Superstars as well. I believe Bleach didn't, unless I was just to impatient. The non-flashed DS had version 1 or 2 firmware though, and I've heard that makes a difference.

Now, you're saying download play from some commercial cards won't work from a flashed DS to a non-flashed DS? Anyone know why that is?
