strange supercard mini sd problem

When I put my supercard (mini sd version) in my DS it boots perfectly, but when I turn of my ds, and turn it back on, it can't find the sd card.
However, if I turn off the DS, remove the supercard and plug it back in, and then turn the DS back on, then it works every time. So now I have to remove and re-insert my supercard every time I have to play.

Do you think this is a problem with the supercard or with the mini-sd card? (unfortunately I don't have another mini-sd card to check it with)

Also, I just don't understand how this problem is possible, I mean, if my ds is turned of, and I just take out the supercard and plug them back in, how can the supercard "know" that I didn't just leave it in my ds? (I hope this explanation makes sense)

thanks!

Btw, I use flashme v7, SC 1.62 and the mini-sd is formatted in FAT

Well since you don't have another miniSD card to check it just plug in the SC without the memory card. It should read "not find the SD.
Please turn off GBA" then turn it off then back on again without removing the SC. If it boots up again then its the miniSD if it doesn't
then its the SC.

Cliffnotes:
-Leave SC in ds without miniSD
-Turn on, you should see the error
-Turn off but don't touch the SC
-Turn back on
*If it boots up the error again then it's your miniSD card
*If it doesn't and you have to remove and reinsert the
SC then its the SC thats messed up.

Good Luck

This happened to me when I first got my SC miniSD+Sandisk 2GB.  All I had to do was re-insert the miniSD and everything was good.  I haven't had the problem in a while now.

If I do what darkunitzero suggests, then I still get the "not find sd" error, so I guess that would mean that the problem lies with my sd card.

@bitblt: did you have that problem with any other mini sd cards? Or didn't you check?

Anyway, I'll guess I'll just re-insert my sd card every time and hope it doesn't get worse.

But I still don't understand what could cause this problem, it can't be a loose contact, because when I enter the SD card, everything works, so there's definately contact, and when I turn my ds off and on that doesn't change the position off the sd card, and yet it stops working.

Try reforrmatting your memory card again.

Does the card sit perfectly in the slot?

Hi, I have the exact same problem, but I have a GBA

have you had any joy in sorting it out??  Like you I don't have another miniSD to try, but I just don't understand why it needs to make a new contact before it can work again - sometimes it will work if I just remove the miniSD card, but not always, it always works if I remove the Supercard, but leave the miniSD card in place

it's like the supercard needs to reset itself before it will find the sd card again

No, I didnt try another miniSD card.  In my case it doesn't seem to happen very often.

I don't know.  I was thinking my SCSD slot is slightly out of tolerance.  Not everybody has this problem.

just bent the pins inside of the supercard and it will work fine.

I can loan you a new SuperCard if that helps, and replace the old one if it is faulty and less than a year old - let me know.

Quote from: "bitblt"Wow, that's a nice offer.

Chris is indeed a lovely bloke, really trustworthy, amazing really, I'm become so cynical that such service is real shock

Chris sent me a couple of supercards to try, but alas they both showed the same symptoms as before - the having to unplug and plug back in everytime problem.

I can only assume that it is my miniSD card that is the problem, but as it does work with the SD adaptor I will just use my normal size Supercard I've got rather than buying a new miniSD card

When eventually I get DS and a microSD supercard, Chris (supercardstore.com) will be where I buy one form.

He even refunded me before I had sent the goods back!!

If you're reading this Chris, thanks!!!

Hi, thanks for all the kind replies and offers
(I was on holliday without internet so I couldn't answer)
Anyway, the whole problem solved itself, just as with bitblt, gradually the supercard started working better and better and now it works all the time  :)

So for the other people with the same problem, don't despair, things might get better
