I'll be willing to buy you a SuperCard Lite if the SuperCard Lite can run the Castlevania test right from microSD memory and not pre-loaded onto the SC's onboard mem.

The video is posted on the chinese supercard forum in a post probally by Romman, the google tools translation does reveal something interesting though;

"Non-functional widely GBA still retained. NDS speed video can be enhanced to see more clearly"

Which I'd guess means as widely expected they haven't replaced the SDRAM at all.

I don't really mind crappy GBA support sinceI don't play GBA games that often but its nice to have. NDS fast play with no slowdown is what I want most! However, why isn't the SuperCard Lite compatible with the DS Phat and with no other colors?

^Because it's the Supercard Lite. There is the MiniSD version for the Phat. As far as other colors, I would have to agree with you though.

Ratx, can you give me a link to that post? My girlfriend is Chinese, so I'll get her to make an accurate translation of it when she has time.

Wait  are you saying this wont support GBA ?  Only NDS games???

ratx

We're guessing that the GBA support will only be as good as the current models ( ie not too hot )

sneef

nobody said that.. just that it possibly wont have any IMPROVEMENT in GBA functionality over the current generation of supercard

[edit] sorry ratx, typed this while you were posting i guess.  this was not directed at you.   picking my supercard lite up in 1 hour and 40 mins! [/edit]

Quote from: "johnny9562001"yeah, but ez4 lite is piece of shit for nds compablity and it still sticks out, WTF!!!!. also the g6 lite has to many problems in every forum i've been and the fact that you can upgrade memory sucks. the supercard is and always will be #1 in my bingo book.it never gave me problems and now its even better.

I agree 100% with you. SC is the best bang for your buck.

Excellent, we look forward to your first impression

Found some interesting info about the speeds of normal SD cards vs MicroSD. Check out this page.

So it might be the case that an ordinary sandisk microSD performs better than a standard speed mini/normal SD. Of course it all depends on whether the interface in the new supercard is able to handle the speed.

2GB Sandisk MicroSD are just out.. just the normal speed one though, not the Ultra version. mmmm 2GB of roms   :D

great link, very usefule indeed.

I noticed the read speed  (which is what matters when running games) is not that different on the 2 Sandisk versions of the microSD's.... I would save the money and get the standard one

edit.. actually it doesn't show the access times, this would probably affect something like the Castlevania intro, so ignore my comment above.
Yes I'm mad
