I've been trolling these forums for a couple of days now, and with the release of the SC Lite I was just about to make a purchase from Red Hot Stuff for my DS Lite.

SC Lite, Sandisk 1 GB micro SD card
M3 Passcard3

Is this all I need to play media (music, pictures and movies) and homebrew GBA/NDS games/apps? And with this I can either flash it or go without flashing it, correct?

And does anyone know if the Passcard3 protrudes from the top of the DS Lite or not? I will most likely flash my NDSL, but since the only game I currently own is Metroid Prime Hunters, I figured the passcard3 was the best way to go (rather than a passme device?)

And I realize that with this setup I will not be able to backup any of my NDS games to the MicroSD card right? I would need a true passme device for that? Or could I do that after flashing the NDSL?

I appreciate the help and everyones posts in these forums.

Thank you.

Ok, yes that is all you need. Yes you can decide wether to flash it or not. The passcard 3 doesnt stick out but check if it has sleep mode so that if you are playing a game and you close the ds it will actually go to sleepa nd not get frozen or messed up. And you are correct, you CAN NOT back up your original games. To be able to do that you would need someone to make an app that could let you do that on the Supercard. No you cant do that after flashing the ndsl.

Yes, thats all you need. Yes, you can either flash your DS or play withouth flashing. The Passcard is the same size as a normad NDS cart so it does not stick out.

As far as backing up your own games, I don't think you would be able to do that. You could back up your saves but as far as the actual cart, I doubt it.

Thank you very much memyselfandi & 754boy for the quick and helpful responses.

I read the specs of the passcard3 and it says it works fine in sleep mode.

Also, it says "It is perfect Flash Card boot-up solution for DS Lite & NDS that is compatible with most types of Flash Carts."

I guess since the SC Lite is just now being released, it hasn't been tested with it yet so compatability might be an issue?
