Hello everybody,

For personal reasons (work, girlfriend...), I can no longer keep this tutorial up-to-date. I will no longer come to this forum (or the other forums I'm used to post in) starting tomorrow. My e-mail is in my Profile in case you want to tell me about something (but no MoonShell questions please).

I put the tutorial under a Creative Commons licence, which makes you able to modify and repost it anywhere, as long as you give credit to me as the original author, keep the same licence, and don't make money out of it. If you do so, please drop me a line, as I like to know when my work is used :)

Thanks for everbody who showed interest for this tutorial, those who encouraged me to write it, and those who kept me motivated to update it (I first posted the French version last October, that's almost a year ago!).

Bye! ;)

I can't seem to get mp3 files working. It says ext.MP3 not supported. I can't launch the msp files on moonshell or in windows. THe oly files that do work are Text files and dpg files. Can someone please help me? I used the premade Supercard SD one. The one with romman's supercard reset for moonshell.

Quote from: "onekelly"Did you put the shell folder in the root directory?

Do you mean the root directory of the Supercard SD. No.

What do you mean by the SD cards' root? Does this apply to MiniSD cards too? Thanks.

rorix_bladewing5

Means in the main part of the sd card, not in any folders or anything.  Applies to all cards including mini sd.

ZAFDeltaForce

Which means, the place you immediately see when you open your SD card? As in, not in any folders or anything. The... the first page?

K, thanks guys!

So I cant put the 'shell' folder and stuff into another folder eh? Oh man... Anyway to make that 'shell' folder hidden? Its an eyesore...

Thanks alot  :D

Yeah, that is a very simple fix. When your SD card is in your pc, right click on the folder and mark it hidden. That is all. In fact I have a folder called movies on my daughters ds and have made it hidden as well (but not the contents). I changed the line in the global.ini from auto to
Quote; 1.1 StartPath = [//Path/to/folder] (Default = //AUTO)

; Defines folder to be displayed in FileBrowser after boot.
; Can be something like '//MPCF' (to start browsing directly from CF),
; or '//GBFS' (to start browsing directly from flashcart's GBFS).

StartPath=//MPCF/Movies

This hides the movie folder in the main screen but when it boots up she can only see the movies. all she uses moonshell is for movies but you could make up  a folder for example called moonshell in the root, hide the folder, then inside have two more folders like movies, music. So when you start up moonshell you see two folders.
