Okay, first i know that i'm new here and all. I've done a fair amount of searching and haven't been able to find my answer yet.

but basically, i want to get a slot 1 or 2 card - I'm looking at the SuperCard Lite, R4, or the M3 Lite.
But I can't figure out which one is the best for me.

I'm looking for the following:
1) good DS support
2) good SNES support
3) GBA games
4) maybe some light homebrew stuff

I haven't been able to find out if the R4 will be able to play SNES (let alone homebrew) stuff well... I've looked into SNEMul, snesDS and SNEZZI

I'll be buying it from RealHotStuff and I have a 1 gb microSD card on the way (obviously I already have a DS lite and a few games)
what your thoughts of what's best?

If you want GBA support, forget all slot-1, all M3 PRO and all SC Rumble flashcarts.

The choice is then basically between SC Lite and M3 Lite. The former has about an 85% compatibility with all GBA games released, while the latter seems to have almost 100% compatibility, even though is far more expensive (Here in the EU SCLite is ~50 EUR, M3Lite is ~85 EUR).

Homebrew compatibility (SNES emulators are homebrew too) is good with both, maybe a bit better with the M3. Anyway this shouldn't be a big concern, as things will definitely improve as soon as the new DLDI interface spreads.
intendo DS Lite (White) + Supercard Lite + R4 + Sandisk 1 GB MicroSD
Sony PSP + Firmware 3.03 OE-A2

alright, then I'll look more into those.
judging by your sig - you have the SC lite... have you tried out any SNES emulators?
if so, how do they perform? (I still own my SNES and a bunch of games, but having them portable would be awesome)

So the R4 and slot-1's will never support GBA games and stuff like that?

I've heard/read a lot of ppl talking about this DLDI, what is it and how will it improve things?

Search the forums for "snes" and you'll find some posts that explain it.  Long story short, SNES emulation on the DS isn't the greatest, although there are many fully playable games.

Here is a basic explanation of DLDI.

I'm sort of in the same position.

I currently have a SCLite Rumble, and it just seems like the current support for the SCLR is much too low. I want to get a SC Lite, for GBA support and homebrew, especially the SNES emulators. Having the ram available is also a big plus, for whenever I decide to get a Slot-1 card and I want to try out the Opera browser.

My question is, is this a good idea? Will support for SC Lite be consistent? I already see the SuperCard team heading towards more development in the SC DS One. Support for the SCLR is frustrating at times.

I tried messing around with the DLDI patching for the SNEmulDSV03 emulator, only to be disappointed by its lack of support for the SCLR. I tried patching it with the SuperCard SD DLDI patch (as well as the SCLite DLDI patch), and also using the Moonshell patcher on top of that, but it didn't work.

Am I being impatient? Should I just wait, as more solutions for the SCLR come out? Or is it becoming more and more likely that less emphasis will be given to the SCLR in the future?

Oh, btw, I should add one more question, if that's alright.

I have had a SC CF, and a SC SD in the past. GBA support was varied, with some games running slowly, and others running slow enough to render it unplayable.

Is the SC Lite any better for GBA speed issues?

I have a Kingston 1GB MicroSD card, Taiwan made. My CF Card was a Kingston as well. My SD card was a generic brand, but high speed, and worked nicely for most things.

thats the main reason I kept my GBA flash cards purely for EMULATION and GBA stuff  tends to work better than a combi card and less messy :)

for ds I recommend ANY of the SUPERCARD series as they now are 100% compatible with all releases and will be fixed for any future ones too in quick time no doubt :D  SUPERCARD has a MASSIVE user base compared to others :)

but hey each to their own :D

I've heard that the SC Lite has slightly faster RAM, so GBA load times are faster and the slowdowns occur less often.  I cannot verify this myself however.
