Can somone please help me by giving a step by step on how to convert an avi file to play on my DS through my supercard.

I have downloaded moonshell as per your tutorial however when I try to convert the format it gives me an error message which I do not understand. This happens once I have pressed the convert button. What are the best settings on moonshell to use. I'm also unsure once I have sucessfully converted the file format do I need anything on the ds to enable the file to play??

I have been searching the forums, but to be honest I'm completley lost now.

if you can't get an avi to convert correctly through the DMV software, there is a good chance there is a problem with the codec that was used to original convert the video.  The only way to fix that would be to reencode the videos with something like virtual dub first, then do the encode again through DMV.

Thanks, whats the best settings to use ? And do I need to add anything to the supercard or will it play straight from a converted file.

You have to load the file through moonshell because there is no other program that currently supports video on the DS.

A heads up though, the DMV format is a lossless one. Lossless means the video file is going to be HUGE. Probably 2-3 times the size the original video.

You can make a video using the GBA media player and it's conversion software... the biggest downfall there is the format is (arguably) very ugly and since it's for the GBA, it doesn't support full screen on the DS.

Thanks, I think I will just stick to playing games on it. I did consider shrinking the file with media encoder but it seems a load of hassel. Thanks anyway.
