Mini vMac was ported to the DS by Lazyone and this is a tutorial on how to get it running on your Supercard.

First of all download the necessary files from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V3BEKUVL

Now, extract all the files and double click the dummy11_setup.exe to install the Dummy File Creator.  You need this to create a virtual hard drive(sort of).  Once installed, browse to the folder where you installed it and open Dummy.exe.

Change the settings to:

File Size : 20mb
File Path : C:/mac_hd.img

Now it should look like this:

Press Create.

Go into the data folder and copy vMac.ROM.  Paste it into the vMac folder.

Now open Mini vMac.exe from the vMac folder.  Wait a few seconds and it should look like this:

Go to the File Menu and click Open Disk Image and browse to the vMac folder.  Change the Files of Type to All file(*.*).  Click on System Startup and press open.  Now it should look like this:

Go back to file and click Open Disk image again but this time, open the mac_hd.img you created with the Dummy File Creator.  An alert should pop up saying: "This is not a Macintosh disk.  Do you want to initialize it?".
Press initialize, and then press erase on the next pop up.  Now name the disk "Main" without the quotes.  Now it should look like this:

Double click on System Startup.  Double click on installer.  Click ok on the
"Welcome to the Apple installer" screen.  Now click install.

Wait a while for it to install and a pop up should appear saying: "Please insert the disk: System Additions".  Go to File, Open disk image and open System Additions from the vMac folder.  Then when it ask for System Startup again, file, open disk image, System Startup.  Then press quit when it says the installation was sucessful.

Now go to the Special menu and press shut down and then quit Mini vMac.

Now get mac_hd.img and put it into the data folder which is in the vMac folder.  Then rename mac_hd.img to disk0.dsk. Go back to the vMac folder and run Make.bat.  Two new files should appear, mac_romdisk.bin and minivmac_romdisk.ds.gba (Just a note, if mac_romdisk.bin is larger than 32mb, go back and create a smaller dummy file).  Rename this to minivmac.nds and run it from your Supercard.

Now you have a portable mac!

Well i tryed it on micro sd and it doesnt work :(  IS there way to make it work?

rorix_bladewing5

I don't know, unfortunately i don't have a sc micro  :(  Maybe you could use the sc micro moonshell patcher? i read it fixes most homebrew for the sc micro.  I think this is it http://eng.supercard.cn/download/Moonshell%20reset%20for%20SC.rar

emoo55

IT gives me an error: Failed to load Macintosh Rom and the moonshell patcher doesnt work it give me an sc code not found

rorix_bladewing5

What size did you make mac_hd.img? I edited the tutorial now.  I think it needs to be 30mb or less.  Sorry i forgot.

emoo55

I will try 30 mb. I put 50 mb maybe now it will work. OK i got it  to load but its stuck on a floppy disk and a question mark? any help here?

AnalogMan

It wouldn't work with 50 for me, 10MB worked fine though (MicroSD).

How can we install games and apps with this? I had seen some pics of it running Sim City and other games and apps.

Thanks,

You'd have to install it while running Mini vMac. I just don't know where they're getting the disk images to mount in order to install the games.

I can't get my second (mac_hds.img) to mount, although I do follow your steps.
The HD doesn't appear on my desktop.
*edit*NVM, fixed it
*edit2*I made my .img to be 30Mb, but the mac_romdisk.bin keeps getting over 50 :s
*edit3*NVM again, fixed it :)
p.s. You are using release #2 right?
